    NO CAL FAIRS - Stockton

The No Cal ‘Fair’ season with Wednesday’s Stockton card. Every year longshots working over the local track pop up and we’ll see if Lucky Ole in the 9th can be one. His form at Los Al was poor, but he gets a barn switch and shows two swift half-mile works here at Stockton. He’s 15/1 on the ML.
    (9th Race)

    $20 win Lucky Ole

$5 Quinellas Lucky Ole with Spanish Flare, Brite Horizon and Vermont Appeal

    Total wager = $35

    Hollywood Park :

In the 5th race, Minister Blair may have found a field he can finally graduate with as he has been the most consistent of the bunch. There appears to be plenty of speed to set up his rally and we’ll play him to win and in the Quinella.
    $20 win Minister Blair

$10 Quinella – Minister Blair with Crimson Caper and Montana Deputy

    Total bet = $40

    Churchill Downs :

    Race 1 (1:15 et)

    #7 Slawn Cheh 4/1
    #5 Miss Smart Alec 9/5
    #2 No Dress Code / #2b Blushingkittentale 5/2

#7 Slawn Cheh drops in for a tag for the first time and switches back to the main track after a third place finish on the grass at Indiana Downs off a four month layoff. The winner of the race, Ellen's Lucky Star returned to win a $40K stake in her next start on 6/19 by 10 lengths. Barn is winless this year (0 for 6) but does pick up alive jock in Velasquez. #5 Miss Smart Alec was off poorly last out when getting jolted on both sides coming out of the gate and squeezed back. Ended up third as the chalky favorite. Exited a key race two back back against $30K foes, the top pair next out winners. Filly was claimed out of her last race by Morse barn that is 28% winners (with a +ROI) first off the claim. Owns good early and mid pace numbers but will have to run faster than she has in her last couple of starts to win here.

The play: #7 to win at 7/2 or better. Exacta key of #5,#7 over #2,#5,#7.

    Churchill Downs :

    Race 2 (1:45 et)

    #6 Chi Town Slew 9/5
    #2 Sweet Bernice 5/2
    #5 Wild Flower 15/1

#6 Chi Town Slew earned the top last out TM speed fig in good looking win against $20K non winners of two and looks capable of winning right back here stepping up a condition in her third start of her current form cycle. Her closing style does look too suitable against this short field but she has flashed good early speed in the past and will be more of a pace factor in here and owns a solid pace profile throughout. #2 Sweet Bernice was beaten double digit lengths last out after a tardy start against open $30K foes and drops into non winners of three company here. Was a distant eighth last out, the runner up in the race, Smiling Sky a next out winner against $20K foes on 6/3. Two back this filly was a sharp winner against $20K non winners of two, the runner up Awesome Frances a next out winner on 6/9 against $30K non winners of two.

The play: #6 to win at 8/5 or better. Exacta key of #2,#6 over #2,#5,#6.

TRONARE didn't have the best of trips last time yet still made the

        The Professor :

        Churchill Downs :

        RACE 8

2-Cat Buster 7-2 -Anyone in this field has a decent chance of scoring so demand a fair price. This Asmussen trained son of Tale Of The Cat has been sidelined since two disappointing races at Churchill in November. Asmussen was very high on this colt before those races. He may have straightened out his problems and could have him ready to fire at a price. Shane Sellers will be aboard.

4-Fast Train 7-2 -Hasn't raced since switching to Pat Byrne's barn in April. Showed some promise when trained by Nick Zito. Byrne adds blinkers while naming Mark Guidry to ride. Figures in the hunt for top honors from on or near the pace.

7-Paradise Peak 9-2 -Appears to have been sold privately by Winstar Farm after disappointing efforts in his last two starts. Appeared to have much promise after impressive debut win at Keeneland in April. Am not surprised that he didn't move forward under overrated trainer Elliott Walden but Winstar Farm usually buys horses, not sell them. Mixed signals with Calvin Borel riding for new trainer Hal Wiggins.

3-Come Out Smokin' 5-1 -Lukas trained colt finished 4th at this level in his last race. Won at Churchill in previous start. Rider Rafael Bejarano stays aboard. Can't toss.

6-Crafty Cammack 5-1 -Was a 7+ length runaway winner against maidens in his last race. Was runner-up on muddy Churchill strip in previous start while earning one of the best speed figs in this field. Meets winners for the first time but can't be tossed by any means. Robbie Albarado rides for trainer Al Stall Jr.

          Race 1 Princess Malice (#2)

Today's first race is a 5 1/2 furlong sprint for three year old fillies. Par for this $12,500 claiming level is a 95. Today's spot play has a very good chance of winning at a nice price, since the top two favorites look vulnerable on paper. TALEGA DE ORO (2-1) and SHE ROVES (2-1) come out of the same slow race run on May 27th. The winning figures were 93-91+ at this very same level. SHE ROVES finished third with figures of 91-90+ while TALEGA DE ORO hardly ran a step and finished last.

PRINCESS MALICE (3-1) gets the call as spot play based on her most recent maiden score up north at Bay Meadows. This John Sadler filly looked very good breaking her maiden with figures of 91-94+ for the 92 par level. A race like that should give PRINCESS MALICE the confidence she needs to compete well at today's 95 level. This race has come up very weak with the exception of PRINCESS MALICE. I will stick with the sharp filly as she tries to make it two in a row.

If our spot play runs the race I believe she's capable of, there's not much standing in her way. I don't really trust any other filly in this race so I will focus a straight wager only. Good luck!

            # 6 EL CHAMACUZ 4/1

            # 7 REBEL LEE DASHER 10/1

SOUL SOVEREIGN seems to be the bet in here. Fuentes has been scorching the last month, winning at a nifty 19 percent clip. This filly gets a boost with Fuentes in the irons. Boasts reliable Equibase Speed Figs on average overall when compared with the rest of this group. EL CHAMACUZ - Has put up formidable Speed Figures in longer quarter horse races in the past. Should be given consideration - I like the numbers from the last contest. REBEL LEE DASHER - This gelding looks like a playable longshot. Is a solid choice - given the 55 Equibase Speed Figure from his most recent race.

            # 6 OILTEMP 12/1

            # 3 BOINK 8/1

My selection in this competition is SILVER TOWN. Has strong Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet in this race. Formidable selection to take this race going in a dirt route. With a very good 78 speed rating last time out, will clearly be a factor in this outing. OILTEMP - This racer enters today's contest with second time Lasix. With a sound 67 average Equibase speed fig at the distance, seems well suited for today's contest. BOINK - The Equibase Speed Fig of 59 from his most recent race looks strong in here.

            Hollywood Park

            Race #5

            #5 Minister Blair - Fair odds 2/1
#2 Raise The Bar - Fair odds 3/1

We closed last week with a nice profit paying attention to overlays from fair odds, nailing R McLennen at $24.60 in the 5th (the only win contender) and then tabbing Summer Lea in the 9th, the only overlay from the two contenders, paying $12.60. There are similar opportunites on the Wednesday card. Good Luck.

Minister Blair closed from 10th of 11 to 2nd last out under similar conditions, with Smith up, and with Mike riding him back for Mandella, in a weak race with some cheap speed to set him up he should be the one to hold off late. Raise The Bar was beaten just 2 lengths in his debut last out, and it's pretty tough for a horse to win on this circuit in a turf route, especially at this mile distance, because these races are run hard from bell to wire. With the experience of that race and a solid pace, this exceptionally well bred colt with Espinoza up is also going to be very tough, and opening at 5/1 is worth a strong look as a win bet.

            Stockton - Race #9

            #4 VERMONT APPEAL (ML=3/1)
            #8 LEE LEE ANNA (ML=6/1)

VERMONT APPEAL - You have to like that recent race speed fig, 61, which is the best recent race fig of this group. This filly is uppermost in earnings per start. Take a long look at this thoroughbred in the saddling enclosure. LEE LEE ANNA - I really like that most recent contest on June 5th at Los Alamitos where she ended up second.

            Vulnerable Contenders: #2 GRAMAR LOVE (ML=5/2), #7 SPANISH FLARE (ML=4/1), #1 BRITE HORIZON (ML=5/1)

GRAMAR LOVE - This equine doesn't have a champion's demeanor. Frequently finishes in the place or show spot. This less than sharp equine hasn't been close at the finish line lately.

SPANISH FLARE - Recent dropping speed figures of 59/52/48 give a sign that this horse may be going off form. BRITE HORIZON - You always think this horse has a shot to win, but she fails frequently.

            STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#4 VERMONT APPEAL is the play if we get odds of 2/1 or better

            Suffolk Downs - Race #2

            #1 MORNING FEVER (ML=7/5)
            #11 ONRICHARDSACCOUNT (ML=10/1)

MORNING FEVER - A thoroughbred coming back this promptly after a nice effort is a good signal. Gelding won shipping here on June 8th and looks good right back. Rider jumped on this gelding's back for the first ride on Jun 8th. Should be in tune with the horse even better in today's contest. This gelding should be at the peak of fitness, this far into his form cycle. ONRICHARDSACCOUNT - This gelding is back in a race very quick. This is a great angle - Sprint horses that come back in less than 10 days after a race. A good sign of a sharp and ready racehorse. Gelding is a few starts into a comeback here. Should give a good performance today. I am keen on that recent effort on Jun 14th at Suffolk Downs where he finished second.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 COPPER KARAT (ML=5/1), #2 ZERO DEGREES (ML=6/1)

COPPER KARAT - Hard to bet on at 5/1 odds after the most recent showings. Hasn't finished in the money in any short distance affairs of late. Doubtful to see him doing it this time out either. ZERO DEGREES - You cannot keep making rationalizations for a horse that just doesn't win. Don't play him.

            STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#11 ONRICHARDSACCOUNT is going to be the play if we are getting 5/1 or better

                hc :

confussing is not my intention and yes there are two different looks (albiet very small) . From two different people comes these two different looks , both of them are crediable cappers and good at what they do .

So that tells us what ?

Either go with what they both like or leave it alone are two fine options at this point , and I offer these everyday if one was to look real close (except for pups or when Garys here).
