Hollywood Park Race Four
THE ROAD BOSS is figuring out life in a hurry now for Jeff Mullins after a slow start to his career. Some horses are just slow learners and this guy finally kicked the door down with an impressive four length maiden score when dropped in for $25,000 last out. Foresakes the starter allowance race for this three-year-old open claimer and the son of Southern Halo just worked :45 4/5 in preparation for this event. That faster than some half miles are run in the afternoon. He should be sitting on a huge effort and is worth anything above 9-5.
Let's play #3 THE ROAD BOSS at 9-5 or greater.
Hollywood Park Race Seven
SEX MACHINE would have made James Brown proud with his quick feet in the lane last out and he really seems to be rounding into form now for Ron McAnally, who knows how to train a turf sprinter and is also excellent with imports. He should improve again here and may be slightly overlooked in the wagering with the horse he tied last out back in here. That event certainly looks like a key race in retrospect as Reel 'Em In and Excessive Barb have both come back to win. Let's see if it can product another winner here.
Let's play #7 SEX MACHINE to win and place at 2-1 or greater. Suggest an exacta box using #'s 3+7 - so the other who exits the key race doesn't beat us.
