    FIRST RACE:

3 UNFORGETTABLE GAL is shortening up to a sprint distance after setting a pressured pace and weakening to finish third in a screw tightening performance at a mile and a sixteenth. 7 ALI P SLICK stretches out a tad to six and a half furlongs after an eventful second place finish at three-quarters in which she bumped early and steadied on the turn. 5 CALLTER recovered from a troubled start (bumped, steadied) to come within a neck of notching this condition at seven furlongs. She fits perfectly with this caliber of competition. 6 RUNTHERAPIDS stretches out an additional furlong after a rough outing at five and a half in which she was forced outward at the start and raced four-wide throughout.

    SELECTIONS: 3-7-5 LONGSHOT: 6

    SECOND RACE:

3 LIL NASH RAMBLER is turning back to five and a half furlongs after opening a quick three-length lead and faltering to finish a distant fifth vs. $35K maidens at a mile. He should be able to flaunt his speed vs. the easiest competition of his 17-race career. 1 A ROYAL SCAM wheels back at the same level and distance after setting the pace and fading to finish third to well-meant Bernardo last out. His second consecutive start from the rail should produce positive results. 6 INFLICT, a son of Proud and True, has worked consistently enough to be a factor in his lifetime debut. Trainer Dave Braddy has M R Cruz in the saddle. 2 KIPPER'S TUNE breaks from an inside position after stalking the pace and fading from a tough outside post (10). Trainer Paul Maxwell lightens the load with leading apprentice Leroy Nelson.

    SELECTIONS: 3-1-6 LONGSHOT: 2

    THIRD RACE:

6 RUBY FALLS dropped to the $10K level after rallying to finish a respectable third to $16K types last out. The turnback to a mile should help the Kathleen O'Connell/M R Cruz collaboration. 5 NATIVE ENERGY stretches out to a mile after posting a competitive speed figure when facing $12.5K claimers at six and a half furlongs. He's a major player vs. two-lifetime competitors. 1 SENDEK takes a need drop on the competition scale after chasing the pace and fading badly vs. $25K two-lifetime competition at a mile and a sixteenth. 7 OUR FIRST FLIGHT is stretching out around two turns after dueling for the lead and tiring to finish sixth at seven furlongs. Note that the son of Meadow Flight is bred to love this distance and beyond.

    SELECTIONS: 6-5-1 LONGSHOT: 7

    FOURTH RACE:

7 LAST STAND, a winner of 50% of his races on this course (4-2-1-0), and Grade 3 stakes-placed on the dirt, makes his first start since a disappointing performance, as the favorite, in a five-furlong sprint at Tampa. The gelding, 4 for 5 in the money at a mile, should be running and gunning as soon as they open the gate. 4 PARADISE DANCER shows back-to-back bullet workouts since setting a pressured pace and faded to finish third in his local return on the main track. The son of Langfuhr, out of the Bold Ruckus mare Ruckus Ridge, is bred to love the surface switch. 5 CLASS OF SEVENTY is turning back slightly after posting the best last-race turf figure when finishing second at a mile and a sixteenth. The only knock is the lack of a score in nine previous attempts on this surface. 6 BROADWAY SNOWMAN stepped up the competition after rallying four-wide to defeat $25K optional claimers at the distance. Two in a row is a strong possibility.

    SELECTIONS: 7-4-5 LONGSHOT: 6

    FIFTH RACE:

9 LITTLE RICH has his claiming tag sliced in half after setting the pace and fading vs. $10K claimers at six and a half furlongs. The son of Honour And Glory should find this level of competition well within his scope. 5 SIR SAUCEBOAT is turning back to six furlongs after squandering a three-length lead when weakening to finish third at six and a half. Trainer Lloyd Caballero lightens the impost with 10-pound apprentice Chris Creary. 7 BILL IS IN LOVE hasn't been in action since he was facing tougher with success (16-2-3-4) during 2003. He's a logical choice unless the suspicious plunge to the bottom has you concerned. 4 JO JO'S BOY plummets to the $5,000 level trying to hit the board for the first time in two years (6 races). Trainer Tim Ritvo has apprentice Daniel Santana handling the return.

    SELECTIONS: 9-5-7 LONGSHOT: 4

    SIXTH RACE:

3 SKIPPYKEEPSWINNING returns to the main track, and gets a jock switch to Eddie Castro, after hitting the gate and being eased in an entry-level allowance race on the turf. 6 CITY PRINCE is dropping to the $16K two-lifetime level trying to hit the board for the first time in 11 races this year. He's spotted perfectly in what can be best described as a wide-open affair. 4 JOHN DAVID is dropping into a competitive spot after failing to handle entry-level allowance competition on the main track. Trainer Reed Combest has M R Cruz handling the dropdown. 1 WAUWINET certainly has reason to improve after breaking slowly and steadying on the first turn in his first-ever race over the track. Gary Boulanger rides.

    SELECTIONS: 3-6-4 LONGSHOT: 1

    SEVENTH RACE:

2 FLY ME ALI drops into this two-lifetime claimer and turns back to five furlongs after dueling for the lead and fading in consecutive starts against entry-level allowance competition. The daughter of Grand Slam is ready to deliver the knockout punch. 3 FABULOUS LOOKER lived up to her name and looked fabulous when she demolished $25K maidens by almost six lengths. She signaled her intentions with a bullet half-mile workout on May 30. 5 THREE MINUTE CALL is back on the dirt after showing early interest and fading to finish a well-beaten eighth behind Whenthedoveflies, who established a new track record in the Cool Air. She fits nicely vs. this level of competition. 8 KING TRUE is another dropping into this conditioned claimer after failing to handle allowance competition at seven furlongs. Note that she definitely has enough speed to overcome the pitfalls associated with the outside post.

    SELECTIONS: 2-3-5 LONGSHOT: 8

    EIGHTH RACE:

2 CAREY'S GOLD drops a notch on the competition scale and stretches out to seven furlongs (2-1-0-0) after recovering from a traffic situation on the backstretch (steadied) to finish second in a $25K optional claimer at five and a half furlongs. M R Cruz gets the riding assignment. 6 SHOWMEITALL, who apparently bled through the Lasix, as the favorite, in his last start, shows a pair of respectable workouts in preparation for this assignment. Note that the tote action should tell you more about his readiness to compete here. 3 NIGHTMARE AFFAIR is turning back to a sprint after an eventful outing at a mile and a sixteenth in which he bumped and steadied early. Note the sophomore ran well the last time he made the same distance switch (Feb. 14). 4 SUPER REVIEWER will try optional claiming/allowance competition after posting the best last-race speed figure when finishing second the repeat winner Emo in a straight $25K claimer at the distance. He belongs on all your exotic tickets.

    SELECTIONS: 2-6-3 LONGSHOT: 4

    NINTH RACE:

9 M J FORUM is stretching out slightly to five furlongs after finishing an improved third when Lasix was added for his recent outing at four and a half. His past experience should key his success in the nightcap. 8 WAGON TRAIL, a son of Chelsea Cat, hails from a barn that has won with 3 of 4 freshman runners thus far. Trainer Dave Braddy has M R Cruz in the irons. 4 JOEY'S CAT, a son of Western Cat, shows three swift three-furlong workouts in preparation for the lifetime debut. The colt should be mixing it up as soon as the pop the latch. 6 FAST FLIGHT, a son of Concorde's Tune, has been burning up the training track in preparation for the debut. Trainer Luke Poulos adds Lasix and five-pound apprentice Emanuel Cosme.

    SELECTIONS: 9-8-4 LONGSHOT: 6

BEST BET: RACE 4 - LAST STAND
