This is what happens when sports books post lines they don't understand. At many offshores right now, there is a proposition posted on whether Smarty Jones will win the Belmont Stakes. At Royal Sports, for example, the price on "No" is +190. I think that's a value based steal. There is no way that on race day if you wagered on every horse in the field except Smarty that you would ever get a cumulative 2-1. There might be as many as six to eight horses in the race. The Smarty hype is out of control. I suspect the number on "No" will go down and the number on "Yes" will go up.
There hasn't been a triple crown winner in 26 years and they're giving 2-1 that there will not be again this year. I'll take it at that price!
