HOLLYWOOD PARK -- Race #8 -- TICKER TAPE (#8)

The 8th race is The Senorita Stakes for three year old fillies. This one mile turf event has a par level of 105. TICKER TAPE is the lone filly to earn a final figure (at a route of ground) of 105 or better. She earned that figure in her most recent race which was The Providencia Stakes. Her winning figures of 103-105-105+ plot best among this group by quite some margin. Anything close to a repeat of that effort should earn TICKER TAPE her third consecutive win.
I could not really find any danger as long as we run our race. Most of these fillies plot a couple lengths below today's par and would need to take a big step forward to finish in front of TICKER TAPE. In the three year old ranks, I always prefer to play horses on the improve as far as speed figures are concerned. TICKER TAPE has had her figures jump from the 102 to the 105 range. That kind of improvement is noteworthy and deserving of spot play honors. I really only like TICKER TAPE as a straight wager play for this race. Good luck!
