My best bet of the day:
Belmont Race 8---Gr. II Nassau County B.C. Handicap
Play #6 Grey Traffic
This horse was just purchased by a top client of star trainer Bobby Frankel. The horse broke its maiden in its first lifetime start April 4 at Santa Anita, winning by 9 1/2 lengths! Frankel ships the horse across the country to go after a graded stakes win in just her second career start. This is a very aggressive move by a trainer who doesn't overspot his horses. Also, horses almost always imprvoe when new to Frankel's Barn (there are lots of suspicions about his methods). Odds should be no worse than 3-1 with several decent 3-yo fillies in here.
My other top plays on Saturday are:
Belmont Race 7---Gr. III Bold Ruler Hcp
Play #4 Key Deputy
Improving sprinter presents value facing heavily favored Shake You Down who I think is tailing off.
Churchill Downs Race 5
Play #9 Turn to Zarb
Drops in class off win for aggressive trainer who always spots to win even if horses will be claimed away
Churchill Downs Race 6
Play #9 Flirting With Fate
Longshot in a maiden race showed big workouts before first start of career last out. Was banged at gate but still finished fourth. Shot today at 10-1
Hawthorne Race 3
Play #2 Miss Moses
Decent fourth at Keeneland last and outclasses these fellow maidens.
Hawthorne Race 6
Play #7 Gigawatt
Ran last at Keeneland and meets easier today at this lesser track
Mountaineer Race 8
Play #2 Nantucketeer
Trainer hitting 42 percent drops horse in class to take advantage of inflated purses at this track. Easy winner might pay 2-1
Hollywood Race 9---Gr.II Mervyn Leroy Hcp.
Play #7 Buckland Manor
Monster workout Sunday. Comes in off two month layoff after solid races in winter. Likely to go off around 3-1.
Criteria for plays based on getting best value for likely winners.
