HOLLYWOOD PARK -- Race #5 -- MOYANNA (#10)

Today's 5th race is a 5 1/2 furlong turf sprint for fillies and mares. This allowance event has a par level of 103. The speed figures report points to MOYANNA (8-1) as the filly to beat. She is the lone runner with a recent par figure. MOYANNA beat a group of $32,000 claimers with figures of 100-103 That race from April 10th race has the same 103 par as today's allowance level. Since MOYANNA is NOT stepping up on our class scale, she should be very tough right back. Jockey Saint-Martin continues to ride even though she has switched barns twice (via the claim).
MOYANNA may only have to beat SHEBEEN (7-2) or OUR FLING (6-1) to take home the top prize. SHEBEEN wants the second place slot more than any other runner as she has finished second 7 times from 9 career starts. SHEBEEN earned figures of 104-102+ and 104-99+ for her only two starts in this country. SHEBEEN figures to be very close at the end once again, if she can fire back with another 102+ final figure.
OUR FLING comes into this race with a couple recent 102 efforts that should put her in the top three. She has not visited the winner's circle in quite some time, which may mean she's forgotten how to win. I will use this 6yo mare to complete my exotic wagers based on her solid figures in relation to par.
A straight wager on MOYANNA will be backed up with two quinella combos keyed to OUR FLING and SHEBEEN. I would not be surpised to see these three complete the trifecta as well. It might be those 102's and the 103 coming to the line together. I predict it's MOYANNA by less than a length. Let's see how it works out. Good luck!
