  • ??? for MMM

How many greyhound racing lines do you think are needed to make a wise choice? Programs usually give you 5 to 6, and I can store as many as I want into a database, however, looking at 20 or so lines pre greyhound gets to be a little time consuming, if you know what I mean.

    Any thoughts?

    Good Question :

I have struggled with that for years and think that all round no more than 12 serves its purpose .

6 gives little insight as to peaks and valleys and 20 is to far back to be of use except in extreme cases . I remember waiting on a dog for 39 races to get the 1 box once because he had won his first 3 strarts there. I had to follow him to 3 different tracks during that span and he went something like 2-8-12-6 and was clearly not a crowd favorite .

Well in Daytona he finally got his draw and I went out on a limb and wheeled him over the field with a 1/ A quin. , a 1/A/A tri , a 1/A/A/A super for a 266.00 bet and he came in for his first win in 21 races .

Needless to say it was quite a risk but the reward was excellent as I had 2 signers and a 102.00 quin to boot ( + 58.00 TO WIN) Nice story but I will not tell you when it doesnt work either

He was of my brood and I just knew it was his time and got lucky , but I hope after all this gibberish I answered your question

      Racing Lines

The reason that I asked that, is that I like to factor in grading droppers and risers somewhat, and the more racing lines that I use, the more skewd it goes to the droppers. Let say I have 14 lines for a greyhound and he's dropper. So I've got 11 lines in A, and 3 lines in B, and it will factor this dog higher than a young pup coming up from D.

The dropper is clearly off his form and so be discounted as such.

      Agree?
