KITCHEN BOSS - Speed figures on the turf point to this thoroughbred as a legit contender. Has the best in the field for this distance-surface. Strong average class rating on this horse. Should have the class to run well on the turf. Don't throw this thoroughbred out due to her last event at Fair Grounds where she finished seventh on the soft turf. Should improve this time around. VENUS DE MILO - Looking at today's class rating, this horse is meeting an easier bunch than last time around the track at Fair Grounds. I seem to always make money betting Calhoun horses on the turf. That barn has a dominant win pct for this distance/surface. Her win on November 6th in a $20,000 Claiming race, at 1 mile, is a big plus for this mare.

TRUE MARCO - This horse absolutely loves this track. All his wins have been here at Thistledown. Ran last race out against tougher competition at Thistledown. The move down the class scale should suit him well. TrackMaster keeps good stats on this type of information. This horse always seems to race well after a vacation.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 WILDCAT CREEK (ML=5/2), #5 UPON REFLECTION (ML=3/1), #3 RED MAX (ML=6/1),

WILDCAT CREEK - This horse hasn't had any recent favorable outcomes in sprint contests. Not easy to invest in him in this contest. UPON REFLECTION - No favorable outcomes for this vulnerable equine in a sprint event over the last couple of months tells me that this gelding is in a thorny situation RED MAX - Tough for anyone who saw this questionable contender in his last contest to wager on him this time out. If you keep betting these sort of 'hanger' types, you're going to be disappointed most every time.

PAPA'S FOREST - It looks like Hernandez had to 'know' this mare on Mar 13th when riding her for the initial time. Back aloft again today. A little change in scenery has got to do this one well. Reading the PPs, it seems like she likes to visit the winner's circle at multiple race tracks. RHODIUM - In her last race, this mare showed good early speed then fell back before finishing nicely. LITTLE NORWEGIAN - I like this animal. Should be familiar with this class since she ran against the same type last time around the track at Fair Grounds. A repeat of that recent performance on March 14th where she registered a figure of 82 looks lofty enough to score in this clash.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 CLASSY CORINTHIAN (ML=5/2), #8 REDLACE AND PEARLS (ML=4/1), #1 JURY WISE (ML=6/1),

CLASSY CORINTHIAN - I don't normally play a morning-line favorite that hasn't been to the track in the last three weeks. REDLACE AND PEARLS - The pace situation just isn't too promising for this early speedball. Many other thoroughbreds would have to scratch to improve her chances. Unlikely that the speed rating she earned on April 15th will be good enough in this event. JURY WISE - Don't believe this less than sharp equine will do much running today. That last speed rating was disappointing when compared with today's Equibase class figure.

He also returned to earn his diploma on the inner track at Aqueduct March 26 and Dutrow excels with his recent grads trying winners for the first time. He fired a local bullet April 27 and is bred to handle this longer distance

SILVER MOJAVE - Have to give this race horse a good look. In recent races, has posted the best speed figures on the turf at this distance. I like to wager on this handicapping angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a nice effort within the last month or so. This horse has a lot of class. A good sign in a race on the grass like we have today. Took a big class drop last out, and I think she may have needed it. Puype enters her at a similar level today. I'd expect an improved performance.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SUMMER LADY (ML=5/2), #7 NAZARETH (ML=7/2), #8 GYPSY'S RULE (ML=9/2),

SUMMER LADY - Hasn't hit the board in any short distance races lately. Doubtful to see her doing it in today's event either. NAZARETH - Tough to keep chasing this sort of 'bridesmaid' horse. No pace in this affair to help this come from behinder's efforts. GYPSY'S RULE - Usually I need a sprinter to have some recent success in sprint contests in order to back her. Just cannot bet on this pony. Didn't show me anything last race out or on Aug 13th.

ZAMBITO - I think the shorter distance will help this gelding stay the distance. Morales has a knack for getting equines to run well after a claim. Numbers are stellar first time off a claim, and this horse fits that category exactly. JOHNNY UTAH - Look at this gelding's PP lines. With each event he keeps getting closer. I really like that latest outing on Apr 20th at Mahoning Valley Race Cour where he finished first. Gelding is a few starts into a comeback here. Should give a big race today. This gelding's last speed rating is good enough to win here, I'll bet on him right back this time. Getting a weight break of 5 pounds from last race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour on April 20th. Certainly could make the difference right here. ADVANCED DEGREE - You'll be generating profits left and right by turning your betting money onto this jock/conditioner combination. Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should benefit from today's shorter trip. When a pony drops at least 5 pounds (like this one is), you must take notice. It may not seem like much, but this should help.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 INDIELO (ML=3/1), #3 LICENSE TO BLING (ML=7/2), #1 PARK AVE (ML=8/1),

INDIELO - 3/1 is not worth the risk for any horse in a sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs that hasn't hit the board in a short distance event lately. This runner ran a mediocre speed rating last race out. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely suffer defeat in today's race running that fig. LICENSE TO BLING - This gelding recorded a speed rating in his last affair which likely isn't good enough in today's event. PARK AVE - Hasn't finished in the money in any sprint contests of late. Unlikely to see him doing it this time out either. Mediocre fig last race out at Thistledown at 6 furlongs. Don't believe this questionable contender will improve too much in today's event. I don't think this less than sharp equine likes running on the inside, certainly not out of the number one post.

Look for a solid chance of improvement from the most recent race on the turf.

ROYAL RUSH - Mare was in versus 'open company' on Apr 30th and should find this group easier to deal with. Sub-par effort in the last race at Evangeline Downs was due to the off-going (she finished sixth). Have to do better in this event on a fast track. SILENT LUST - This magnificent animal has a lot of class. A good sign in a grass race like we have today. This one could be an overlay in this event at odds of 10/1. Finished fifth in last race at Fair Grounds but was close at the finish.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 LIZZY 'N D C (ML=3/1), #2 FLOWERSFORLADY (ML=7/2), #9 SPECIAL COLLECTION (ML=6/1),

LIZZY 'N D C - Finished seventh last time. Would have to move up to hit the board in today's race. Hard to support any horse with dropping speed figures of 91/82/76. FLOWERSFORLADY - Speed kills. Plenty of early speed in this affair compromises this animal's chances. The speed figure in the last race doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class rating of today's event. Mark this animal as a likely underlay. SPECIAL COLLECTION - Speed ratings tell a tale of decreasing condition.

#6 EVERLOVIN WOMAN (ML=6/1)

EVERLOVIN WOMAN - Ran a lackluster race at Santa Anita last time out. Racing on a fast track puts this mare at the top of my contenders roll call. Maiden is moving to the dirt, and may not have liked the turf last out. Has a good chance to get into the winner's circle for the first time.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 TRYST (ML=3/5), #5 SUGARY (ML=5/1), #2 BEAUTY N BALANCE (ML=6/1),

TRYST - No accomplishments for this mount in a short distance contest over the last two months tells me that this filly is in a very difficult situation Can't play this morning-line favorite off the long layoff. SUGARY - The speed rating last race out doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's event. Mark this horse as a questionable challenger. BEAUTY N BALANCE - A bit of a less than stellar effort when this filly finished seventh. Can't bet on this horse in today's sprint of 7 furlongs. Hasn't even finished in the money in a short distance race lately.

Monday's 8th race (4:04pm ET) from Parx is a $42,000 Allowance event for PA-bred 3-year-olds and up dashing six and one-half furlongs on the main track.

#6 True Knockout (9-2) owns early/pressing versatility but seems to run his best races when he seizes control out of the gate. He went all the way to graduate at this course/distance off the Faro claim April 2 and hit the board in his last two starts vs. winners. They might not catch him if he sneaks away early.

#2 Mr. Romance (3-1) runs well fresh and Reid is a profitable 21% with this type of layoff runner. He owns competitive numbers and today's rider Flores guided him to back-to-back place finishes here earlier in the meet.

#4 Watch My Dust (2-1) is on the upswing and should enjoy today's added 1/2 furlong. He was placed first in his maiden win April 4 so he has actually never crossed the line first.
