  • Kentucky Derby Help/Thoughts?

    I'm looking for some GREAT Value on the Kentucky Derby but i don't know shit about Horses. Can anyone pick a Horse or 2 that you know should be in the Derby and has a good shot. I would like to throw $10 or $20 on one and see what happens and how much value i grabbed when the Derby comes.

      I have a very old friend who helps in this area every year , hes one of the old " Memphis Mafia " crowd and has ties that are strong with Keeneland Farm . Hes my man at this time of the year and gives some strong tips that help alot so I will be posting some of his wash in this area soon . :D

          Wayne,

          Unlike futures in team sports where you are certain your team will compete, there is no such certainty in Derby futures.
          If your horse doesn't run or scratches you lose. I prefer waiting for Derby day with a big field usually assuring plenty of value. At least you know you're getting a run for your money.
          That being said as the three year old season unfolds there will be horses who are still developing that seem just a notch below their competition. These are the ones to take a flyer on. Funny Cide was 50-1 in some futures last year(13-1 on Derby day). These are the type of horses you should be looking for but for now its still very early in the season.
