  • Preakness Thoughts---A New Thread

Take a long look at First Dude.

Dublin, who everybody hates, is consistent and can be part of it. I'll use those two with the favorites---Super Saver and Lookin At Lucky.

    Anybody else with ideas?

i think caracortardo, schoolyard dreams or yawanna twist could help make a decent exotic-will probably throw these in with your 4,but exotics like this are my weakest link-i am terrible at figuring out how to play them, thats why i usually just play win, place or exacta box !!!!

SchoolYard Dreams, the only horse that finished ahead of Super Saver that's in the field.

Also don;t see why Paddy O'Prado can't steal it on the lead. this race lacks pace.

I kinda want super saver to win so we can get great Belmont odds on Ice Box.

          Clark: What's steroids?

Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

I keep hearing about lack of pace and early speed. But lets just say that Yawanna Twist, First Dude and Jackson Bend go out at hot fractions. And Super Saver, Paddy O Prado and Dublin sit off a hot pace, coming off only two weeks, and they begin to falter.

Could Lookin at Lucky, Pleasant Prince, Aikenite or Schoolyard Dreams pick up the pieces?

Fact is nobody knows who will be on the lead because no horse is a confirmed frontrunner. Many are pressers. Wouldn't be surprised to see Yawanna Twist gun for it (a typical Dutrow move).

That is what I am sort of saying.

I am pretty sure Yawanna is going to be sent. I would not be surprised if Jackson Bend goes as well (the question on this one is breeding for the distance, and not as good as the others coming off the pace, so think they will send him). I also think First Dude may go out as well.

So if that happens and the fractions do get hot and the pressers like Super Saver, Paddy O Prado and Dublin, and crapout, then who will pick up the pieces?

Pleasant Prince (originally a toss) race three back has me interested. And I think Lookin at Lucky can come late, so just trying to see what late people like.
