Travers Day Pick 4

Not going like I thought, but came up with a cheap pick 4 that I think is good.
The key is getting past my single in the 1st leg which is 3rd choice.

Race 8: #4 Informed Decision, if the 5 and 7 go out fast the #4 will pick up the pieces, got to do it fast though at 6 furlongs.

Race 9: #2 Thorn Song, have betean some top horses and Leparoux on the turf is a plus. #5 Distorted Reality, John V/Pletcher dual that has a great chance. #6 Shakis (Ire), Former Breeders Cup winner with Alan Garcia, only 1 jockey better at the Spa than Garcia this year. #7 Proudinsky (Ger), with Prado, this horse almost good enough to be my single.

Race 10: #1 Kodiak Kowboy, rock solid horse that also has a stable mate. #2 Desert Key, don't understand the switch to Velazquez from prado (who has no other mounts in the race) after losing to Kodiak Kowboy by a head last time out. #5 Visionaire, Garcia again, seems to be a better sprint horse that router, good price, let's hope it sticks, may be overmatched though. #8 J Be K, Probably should be a single.

Race 11: #5 Macho Again, last 6 Jim Dandy winners have come back to win the Travers. #9 Mambo in Seattle, seems to be imporving everytime out, might be overmatched though. #11 Pyro, here's a horse to look out for in the 2nd half of the year.

What scares me is that Last 3 years I hit the pick 4, spent $150 + on the tickets and it paid $50.

I don't really see that happening, b/c I see the travers wide open. I figure if the 5 wins the opening race, it's gonna be chalky.

I like TOE. What else is there to love in that race? Like you said it is wide open. Colonel John seems a poly horse, although 2 back on dirt her ran well at a like distance. Da'Tara 2 3 and 4 back had nice races, but other then that nothing, and has another speed horse or two to deal with in this one. TizBig doesn't belong for the win, Macho Again will prove to be tough but may bounce off last. Cool Coal Man will be in it early, but at this distance fades. Amped doesn't seem to have the numbers. Harlem Rocker scares me, but won't touch at 4-1, depending on tote this could be a play. Mambo is scary and should close well, but seem to have a pattern of two good then one off and this is one of his off after a nice last, thinking bounce. Tres is another poly horse and I feel will burn early and fad. Pyro is very good and must be played ITM in all plays, but 7-2 and you will get less. Court may not get the distance but like the pattern and coming off poly ran a good race and is now coming off turf, so at 12-1 with what I show as the best late pace I have to consider.

Like I said truly haven't made up my mind on how to play the exotic, but will have TOE for WPS.

The more I look at it may play 1/2/5/8 w 11/1 w ALL Tri Box. That puts a lot on Pyro to end in the money and may not happen and is a costly play.

I hit a couple of races while down puting in my pick 4, so I added the #5 to the Pick 4 in the 1st leg. Now a $96 ticket.

I missed 2 races both races had the #14 win at prices. The 7th race I thought was scratched that's why i didn't play it. Fuck me, I should be alive in the pick 3 ending with the 8th.
