  • Past Performances Questions

Everyone has their likes & dislikes when reading the form.

What would you like to see & not see on them??

Would you rather see the leading horses fractions or that particular horses fractions for each race?

The horses listed by speed ratings? post position order? run style? power rankings? maybe its a sloppy track & you just want to see their wet track pp's?

I just got a program where I can customize PP's into what I want to see only and I'm just curious as to what everyone looks for.

Some things I always comb through; Connections %, Change in Jockey (and if it is an upgrade) and if previous jockey is in this race on another horse, Breeding (and are there any half siblings in race), Run style (E, P, S),Quirin Speed rating, PP Race Type (is this race up or down in class), I would like to see fractions of winner - fractions of listed horse, I don't know if you do but a calculated Early and Late Pace rating, PP Track conditions, PP track bias, surface (dirt, poly, turf), lifetime stats, Tomlisons, Comments (i.e. 3 Wide, bumped, etc..), total days since last race, total furlongs worked since last race, bullet works, bubble up races at the same distance as todays race, I would like to also know equipment changes and drug changes (blinkers, first time lasix, etc..), would also like to know if horse was scratched out of a race less then 4 days ago.

I know you probably don't have all this data, but you asked, and wanted to give you some thoughts.

I like using equibase forms and equibase speed figures better than the daily racing form.

The bold is key also. I like to know if a horse scratched out to face to face easier for this. Equibase form will tell you if they were entered into a race during the past 3 days, kinda tough to tell you if it was scratched when most forms are printed the day before.

Right before the pp, equibase will say "enterered Sar Race 9 8/10" Or something like that.

But i for the most part agree with bill.

However, somethimes, I think there is too much information in the form.
      Good Luck to everyone

      Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

I would also like to know if a horse that was in the top three in the previous race is/was enetered in a race the past 3 days. This would help with Maiden 2 year old.
