For the trainer to ship all the way from Chicago for a 55K stakes, the horse is certainly well meant. Pick is good for TURF OR DIRT.

This horse makes his second career start after a strong fourth in his career debut in a strong maiden race at Belmont. $1.3 million yearling purchase.

This horse is facing much better known grass superstars but is rapidly improving for a trainer who has won a lot of Saratoga turf stakes over the years. She should move up on soft turf. My only fear is that she may be a race away from her best but the price will be right.

Saratoga Race 10 Gr. 1 Whitney Play #5 Merchant Marine
Bet $25 to win and place
Rapidly improving horse for Jerkens will get torrid pace to run at. Turns back from Gr. 1 at 1 1/4 and should have stamina to mow down frontrunners. 15-1 or bett er a possibility

Eavangeline Downs Race 9 Matron Hcp. Play #1 Nine M.M.
Bet $30 to win and place
Even at his current sad level, P Val can ride rings around the Evangeline rummies. He should go straight to the lead in this one mile stakes. Even if Valenzuela doesn't show up (always a possibility), the horse trumps this field on speed and class. (This horse is cross-entered in a grass race at Louisiana Downs, but that spot is tougher and I'll only play her if she runs here.)

was wonderin where p. val was ridin he returned couple months ago at louisiana downs but havent seen him in week or two thought maybe he was back on the shit.....he is one of the best i seen out the gate and gettin to the front, just lookin at entries id think #2 in that race would be tough trainer assmussen and randall toups is an underrated jock imo

w. nine m.m. runnin at LA Downs and scratchin at EVD, #2 really looked like winner in 9th race...got the win but had to earn it and only 4-5 odds

gris,do not know what happened to "white tie" but the talent is there,might need a fast track as toga was a little heavy the other day but we should get odds on him next out,lets watch for him !!
