YTD: +$273 (based on $50-100 per play)
I'm not going to do much with the Preakness itself as I see Big Brown as the likely winner at tiny odds. I will make small wagers with him, Gayego, Kentucky Bear and Giant Moon. My big plays for the day are below.
Woodbine Race 6 Grade 3 Marine Stakes Play #5 Miners's Claim
Play $40 to win and place
This horse catches a much easier field after finishing sixth in the Blue Grass at Keeneland last out. The cutback to 1 1/16 also helps. The horse won its only two previous starts at Woodbine last year as a two year old.
Arlington Park Race 5 Play #6 Jamaludin
Play $40 to win and place
PLAY IS FOR TURF ONLY. This is the only four year old in a maiden race on the grass. He ran decently in a couple of starts at Gulfstream vs. other older horses and has a big edge against three year olds.
Pimlico Race 11 Gr. 2 Allaire Dupont Distaff Play #7 Buy the Barrel
Play $40 to win and place
Here's my best play on the Preakness undercard. This horse romped at Oaklawn in a slightly easier field and has two fast workouts since. She's two-for-three as a four year old and is four-for-six at this distance. Morning line of 6-1 would be a steal. 3-1 is more likely but it's still a good play.
