Back for my first racing post of the year.
This year I'm going to rate my plays based on $100 bet per race, betting $50 to win and place on each selection, unless otherwise noted.
Gulfstream Park Race 1 Play #7 Taunting Wall
This horse makes a slight jump in class after winning a $20,000 claimer restricted to open $20,000. But the horse is in a much better barn since the claim two races back and a repeat of his last should win. Might get 5-2 or 3-1 here.
Gulfstream Park Race 9 Gr. I Donn Hcp. Play #4 Daaher
Other than Curlin, this is probably the best older horse in the country right now. He needs a big race to set up for a planned run next month in the Dubai World Cup, the world's richest race. This horse has great tactical speed but can also rate if necessary. The price will be very short but I see a victory of at least 3 lengths.
Golden Gate Race 5 Play #8 What's The Hurry
I do terribly in maiden claimers but sometimes I can't help myself. This one drops all the way from 32K to 8K in its second career start. Strong trainer.
