Inside, a while back I had asked you about a horse that had scratched in a race.
I was wondering, overall, if you see a horse say entered in two races at the same course within lets say a 5 day period, do you see an advantage either A) in betting that horse in the 1st race if it does not scratch (chances are it won't run two in5 days and will be a scratch from its other entry) B) if the horse is scratched in it's first entry betting it in it's second entry 5 days later.
I say this for horses that belong to trainers that may be over say a 15% win or in the money rate. These guys I feel really know what they are doing and pick their spots as to entries and corresponding scratches.

Any thoughts on this angle?
Bill, because I see so many horses names each day, my Alzheimers wont allow me to remember too much.
If I do remember seeing a horse that I really like & its scratched, I'll make a note for the next time around. Usually the trainer enters them for haha's in the 1st race, setting them up to run in the race that he really wants, which is the 2nd. I dont have any %'s of In The Money for this angle but I'll bet it's pretty good. Me personally, I like the scratch/run the 2 time around.
I'll have to try to find the link that shows where horses are running today after being scratched recently. It shows if they were scratched by the trainer or by the stewards/starter.

Thanks. Understood, I try and focus on the NY tracks so that makes it easier for me to track. I used to database everything till I had a computer meltdown a few years back and haven't had time or energy to go back and do it. Didn't know if you database everything, if so may be an easy way to set up an "alert" as an angle for these type horses.
I asked because I had one that fit today which runs in the 7th at Belmont (#7 Inda, train McGaughey, jock Coa, daughter to AP Indy) scratched from a $75K Stakes Sunday, running today in a $56K. The #5 or #2 in today's race looks like the play and will probably be hammered by the public. So am taking my chances I on the #7 WPS, sort of based on this. I guess I will see. Haven't been tracking it either, but has been doing pretty well for me as an additional angle.
Well didn't see the race, but 7 placed at a decent payout. As I mentioned 5 and 2 were the ones to beat and hit the tri 5/7/2
Great Bill. Congrats.
I couldnt pull the trigger on the 2 with no PP's of races outside the U.S. I also didnt like the fact that they were training him at 4f running 47 & 2/5. The 7 just broke his maiden after 10 or 11 times & thought if he went out like he did last time, him & the 2 would hook up & my horses would collar them. It didnt turn out that way for me but glad you had it.
