I think Race 7 is the toughest of the Pick 4 sequence. I like #6 Cosmonaut. I think this horse has a good chance to wire the field because I really don't see any other early speed. If Cosmonaut breaks out front and relaxes I believe the horse has the stamina to turn on the turbos late and steal this one. If not Cosmonaut I think any of them can win it. Have to make a stand. In Race 8 I really like #3 Hard Spun and think the horse is a stand out. According to my sheets the horse is the most consistent in the field. Lower the # the better. 1 pt = 1 length. Hardspuns last three races have been a 2,7,2.5. One thing I like here is Hardspun doesn't have Curlin, Rags to Riches, or Street Sense to worry out. I think the main threat is Teufelsberg who's last three races have been solid: 8.25, 3, 1,25. King of the Roxy has not been racing well latley but is a specialist and this distance. Only knock I have on Hard Spun is the horse is racing around one turn which the horse my not prefer. In Race 9: Street Sense is a stand out, easy single, and as close as there is to a lock. Too bad the horse will be on 90% plus of tickets. Race 10: La Travita ran a huge one last out that would win but a regression is expected. Still good enough. Allude is always consistent and is my pick to win it. Graeme Six should get a piece.
The Plays:
Race 7: $1 Pick 4: 6/3/4/6-8
Race 8: $1 Pick 3: 3/4/4-6-8
Race 8: $1 Pick 3: 3-7-11/4/6-8
Race 8: $4 exacta 3/7
Race 10: $4 to win and $8 to place on #6 Allude............$4 exacta 6/8
Race 12: $2 exacta 13/2,6,7 and reverse for $1
Del Mar
Race 2:
#1 Pachiro (20-1) is trained by Nick Hines who's horses haven't been winning but they have been running well. His horses have been in the top 4 at a high%. Long shot jock Quonez jumps in the irons and I like him. Horse drops in class has early speed and I really like to get a piece of this.
The Play: $2 to win on #1 Pachiro
.10 cent super: 7-9-10-12/7-9-10-12/1/7-9-10-12 ......also wheel the 1 in the 4th slot.
Race 5:
A lot to like here for the #2 Horse Jay Walking. This is 1 1/8 miles on the poly track. Track has been a graveyard for horses on the lead early in route races. Jay Walking is a dead closer. The horses adds blinkers, stretches out, switches from the turf to the poly which has been a solid move, drops in class, and gets leading rider Michael Baze. Love this one.
The Play: $20 to win on #2 Jay Walking
