YTD: -172.00 (based on $10 to win and place on all selections)
I went one-for-two yesterday. Unfortunately, the price on the winner was very short. I recommend win-place bets on each of today's four plays.
Belmont Park Race 1 Play #5 Dual Jewels
This horse won a 12,500 claimer at Aqueduct three starts back and then was placed over his head in his last two. He drops all the way down to 10,000 here. His speed figures tower over the field.
Monmouth Park Race 4 Play #11 Colorful Delight
I don't often tout first-time starters but this one stands out. It's a race restricted to New Jersey-breds but this horse ships in from Belmont where he worked a five furlong bullet from the gate as part of an outstanding work pattern. Belmont has a lot of great horses on the grounds so the workouts are especially impressive. And, the rest of the field appears very weak.
Lone Star Park Race 7 Play #2 Wild Roll
This horse was claimed for 20,000 and dropped in class right away in attempt to get a quick win. But he had all sorts of trouble before finishing a fast closing fourth. He runs at the same level here and was doing quite well facing better this winter at FairGrounds.
Hollywood Park Race 7 Play #4 Delicate Cat
Everything looks perfect here. The horse is making her second career start after having trouble in her debut race---a race in which she finished fourth and the second and third place horses have both come back to win! She's dropping in for a tag here, has a bullet workout and gets the red hot apprentice, Talamo, who is on his way to winning the Hollywood riding title.
