  • Saturday 5/12 Spot Plays

YTD: -162.50 (based on $10 to win and place on each selection)

    14 plays; 2 wins, 2 seconds, 10otb

Belmont Park Race 2 Play #1 Stately Pegasus
Pick is for TURF ONLY. The Belmont grass course has been playing to closers like this horse. This is a maiden New York bred race and while my pick is 0-10 lifetime, he's always competitive and will relish the nine furlong distance and just missed twice this winter against open company at Gulfstream.

Belmont Park Race 3 Play #3 Rutherienne
Pick is for TURF ONLY. As stated above, the course is playing for closers and this is an off the pace horse in a race filled with speed. This is a small stakes for three year old fillies and my horse won her only two starts last year at age two and finished a decent fourth in a tougher stakes at Keeneland in her only start this year. Her closing quarter was run in very fast time and she should run by all of these in the stretch.

      Good Luck Gris

      Like both your picks here.

Take a look in Race 2 at the #11. Hasn't run against much quality wise and is coming off a poor effort, but is a strong closer as well and should offer some nice value

Both horses went off short prices and while Rutherienne won the third, paying 3.50 and 2.60, the other horse ran a miserable fourth.

Loss of 9.50 on the day.
