I'm playing hooky from work to play the horses on Oaks Day and found three plays I like a whole lot.
Churchill Downs Race 3 Play #9 Roman's Run
This horse spit it out badly last time in a 1X allowance race at Gulfstream but that was against a really tough field that included Chelokee who would have run in the Derby had he qualified on earnings. He has tactical speed and most of the main opponents have awful outside posts in this 1 1/16 mile race. Strong workout since his last race.
Churchill Downs Race 10 Gr. 1 Kentucky Oaks Play #7 Dreaming of Anna
Last year's two year old filly champion has had two blah starts this year but is training very strongly again. Her best career race was her smashing win on this track in the Juvenile Fillies. She has a much better post position than favorite Rags to Riches and had a blistering bullet work Saturday on a day several Derby horses trained. Could get 5-1.
Belmont Park Race 9 Play #3 Seeking No More
PICK IS GOOD FOR TURF OR DIRT. This horse faces fellow New York-breds for the first time after running at Gulfstream and Keeneland. He's out of Dynaformer and is bred to both stretch out and like the turf. He outclasses a typical field of New York-bred maiden bums.
