Looks live a very strong card today all around!!!
Belmont 2nd
$10 win and $20 to place on #6 Closing Bell
Belmont 8th
$10 win and $20 to place on #2 Charmil
Has the the early speed and weight advantage at good odds (12-1)
Hollywood 2nd
$10 win and $20 to place on Blazing Bartok
$5 exacta 9/8
Glassy is the one to beat. Blazing Bartok's last race was an off one but he previous two were really good efforts. He doesn't have to run his best to beat the others. Looks like a two horse race between Glass and Bartok.
Hollywood 3rd
$10 to win and $20 to place on #6 Indian Weaver
Was a route horse but shortened up to sprint and put on the blinkers and has really liked the change finishing 1st and 2nd since shortening in distance. Today extends the distance from 6F to 7F which I think the horse should like. Will be laying up close to the lead and the pace horses don't look like much of a threat to hang on and Indian Weaver should pass them right by.
Hollywood 9th
$10 to win and $20 to place on #9 Patti Ledo
This filly makes her second start, after a debut that is good enough to make her competitive in here with 3 other top choices. I think she will move forward today, and if she does, she will be tough and with a morning line of 8-1 I like.
Stockton 8th
$10 to win and $20 to place on #5 Perfect Lore
Broke through with a nice effort in his last. Horse couldn't compete in the Southern California circuit but has taken a likening to the softer competition up North. The horse goes for a better barn and should be up and close to the pace. Looks solid.
Colonial 9th
$5 to win and $10 to place on #5 Roman Dynasty
$2 exacta box 4-5-10
$1 exacta box 4-5-6-10
$1 tri box 4-5-6-10
Very competitive race here.
The favorite Storm Cat is only the 4th or 5th fastest horse in this race and at odds on favorite is not a good play, but can still win.
Go Between - lost to Storm Cat but actually ran a better race. But the outside post = ground loss and at 4-1 not a good play.
Kip Deville - is the front runner, has the 14th post, but should still get the lead. But the distance is a question and should get swallowed up around the turn. Toss out.
Showing up - has a lot of ability, that is on dirt. The only horse in this field that has gone a mile and 3/16 but I just don't think this is the horses game. He looks more like a mile horse. I don't think he will transfer his dirt abitly to the turf.
International Cat is too slow, toss him.
Chin High - is too slow, toss him.
Lewis Michael - is very likley to bounce after is big effort in the Peter Pan, toss him.
Rock Lobster - would have to run his best to contend and with the outside post = ground loss, I will toss him.
Unbridled Behavior - would have to transfer his best on dirt to the turf to contend, don't think he can. Toss him
Yates Black Cat - hasn't shown any signs of improvement. Toss him
Roman Dynasty - like this horse a lot. Will be making his first start ever on turf. The trainer Pletcher know's what he's doing with this horse. This horse has unbelievable sire and dam profile in its pedigree. It this horse runs anything like it's Dam Vinista it's a few lengths better than these. It's sire Theatrical is one of the leading turf sires in America. There has never been a horse of Theatrical that hasn't been able to run on the turf. The question is how much did his last effort take out of him? I like him.
Outperformance - second fastest horse in this race, never bounces, lightly raced, inside post, should get a piece of this if it runs it's race.
Can't Beat It - Fitness is a ? with the horse getting 4 months off. Horse is capable.
Prime Diamond - super longshot. Ever since switching to turf has looked like a new horse. Gets a key jockey switch. Has been improving. If its improves more it could just get a piece of this.
Good luck
