I think his whole point about his father is, he devotes his life to doing a great job and the company just shitssssssss on him.
Look at the people working at delphi, people devoted their whole working lifes to this company and now all these peoples pensions are at risk. Meanwhile over the years the ceo's and shareholders reaped the benifits of the company, but now the little guy who put all that money in their pockets, is going to get screwed. The greed has got to stop in this country.
Just look at what the crooks did at enron, world com etc etc,
those workers lost everything. Its not right

cd...you are right about that...no doubt about it.....i am not in favor of these uge ceo packages and buyouts.....But on the flip side....when we have a job and make a good wage it is up to each of us to save and as we save more we become less and less dependent on the man.......but many folks do not save and rely on the company and go down with the ship so to say......

Adelphi is such a poorly run company and even at max efficiency has so much % of their costs dedicated to labor it is not funny.......This did not happen overnight.....But it has been coming for many many years.....The big 3 lived high on the hog for the better part of 30 years.......I saw people who were fork lift drivers who were millionaires at Ford...because they reinvested their stock..There were many many of these people....That is excuberance in the other direction.......All i am saying is that competition caught up with our auto industry and the good times could not last forever as we lost more and more sales to toyota, nissan and honda...

Funny thing is the people in California who sued the credit card companies about not paying their online wagering losses. That was total BS and just creates problems for everyone else. That's why you find it hard to use a credit card along with chargebacks.

I agree with Tony on the points of loyalty being a two-way street and the fact that there are times when we must adapt to survive in regards to BC's dad. Do I think it's right? No. But the man had options which is a testament to his will power to better himself. If he was in a minimum wage job, chose not to better himself, and was handed a raise every year, tied to inflation as you suggest, what incentive is there for him to better his situation?
Corporate scandals are bullshit and jailtime is bullshit. EVERY penny that was stolen should be paid back one way or another. Pie in the sky, yes, but a nice theory.

EXACTLY. He did whatever it took. He didn't stand around and wait for it to be handed to him. Think how productive this country would be if most had that work ethic. But that was generations past. Now it's strictly survival of the fittest, like it or not.

this is a very true statement......That is why i do whatever i can to better myself...I swore i would never be like i was when i was a kid...I grew up the first years in a project.....Mother had medical issues and we were on food stamps....(very embarrassed she was)....my first baseball glove was bought with s&h greenstamps and was red...got made fun of.....Father and her were divorced....Anyways, it could have been worse....but she bettered herself.....and we survived...I did not have cleats until the high school provided them ....I also became a catcher because the team provided the mitt.....

I do know....anything can be done if you set your mind to it and your heart as well....Myself and my 2 siblings all do very well now because of the work ethic of my mother!!!!

I didn't mean he had a minimum wage job, I meant to point out to CD that if it was a minimum wage job to start, his theory is to give everyone a raise every year tied to inflation. In my opinion, this would create a disincentive for people to better themselves or their situations.

I will give you the rundown on why the politicians want to ban internet gambling, instead of legalizing it. If they made it legal, then their would be no kickbacks and bribes for the politicians to get. The taxes would just go to the government.
The driving force behind the ban is the group that is becoming the richiest and most powerful group in this country "THE INDIANS" They want the ban, to protect their casinos and grow their businesses further. If the government is able to completely shut down internet gambling, then you can be sure that the indians business will grow. The indians can funnel all kinds of cash to the politicians because none of their money has to be accounted for, so the politicians love that.
Lastly you only have to go read the internet ban bill to see what i say is 100 percent correct. The wording in the bill states if it is passed, our government will give police powers to the indian tribal police to help enforce the internet gambling ban. You show me in our constitution where a foregin soverign nation has the power to police UNITED STATES CITIZENS?
