I'll agree that I tend to mostly go with the Democrats and that's because I look at things from both sides of the fence & to me they seem to be looking out more for the middle class and lower class.

To say that i'm always left though is incorrect. If that was the case then I wouldn't have said that Congressman or Senator that had 90k in his freezer needs to be fired. Nor would I sit here and say that the Kennedys were nothing more than the irish mafia when they started out. Shit Clinton was a crook as well, but did well as a President.

However, things have changed now as he's no longer with that company since they decided to do away with the department he was in and outsource the work at $35 per hour. The company he works for now knows he's good at what he does and is paying him at least a decent wage. He should be making a hell of a lot more though IMO as he saved them tens of thousands of dollars every month by catching mistakes. If they had listened to him they wouldn't have lost $13k just recently though.
i know a guy who was in management and making 100K per year was laid off at 48 and could never come close to that and he had minimal savings and a family....he started a mail order business and within 2.5 years replaced his income and then some.......Sometimes change is forced upon us and we have to adapt...think of all the poor single moms whose husband ditched them and they hadn;t worked in years....thats how 2 men and a truck was started...by a woman in her late 40's who was broke and had a deadbeat husband....I am not saying it is easy...it never is....but it is possible...My mom went to school in her 40;s at night and waitressed during the day and eventually got a good job at Pratt and Whitney......Age is just a number...we can not control when things happen to us...That is why we must always be sharpening our skills or we will be left behind and will do our familes an injustice

You know the problem with most business owners, they are just greedy friggin pigs who want to make all the money at the expense of other people. Most of you would love to pay people $1 a day, so you could reap all the profits and enjoy a bigger lifestyle.
And as far as the big corporations, they spend years making and stealing huge chunks of cash, then they go belly up and want to blame the worker for all the problems of the company.
Yeah couldnt be the huge pay checks the ceo's and shareholders were taking out of the company, nope its that worker on the floor who caused all the problems.
That arguement is getting real old in todays world, you rich guys have been using it for way to long now.

I agree about CEO and board compensation is WAY out of whack. If shareholders were able to vote on it, it would change.
Ask the steel industry how those tariffs worked. Generations of steel workers lost their pensions b/c gov't couldn't keep their noses out of the free enterprise system and screwed all of the $25 an hour broom sweepers.

Oh, they can do it as its done in Vegas, Atlantic City, Mississippi, lotteries, horse racing and dog racing which Politicians get $ for campaigns.

They don't want to do it. Just like they did with Alcohol, but they had no choice. Now this is a much different story since books are located in other countries. People should have the right to wager if they want too especially when they can on all of the above. However, all I hear is how the money is laundered and used for terrorist activities. I guess illegal drugs don't fund any of that either. Or for that fact any of the other above wagering.

I think his whole point about his father is, he devotes his life to doing a great job and the company just shitssssssss on him.
Look at the people working at delphi, people devoted their whole working lifes to this company and now all these peoples pensions are at risk. Meanwhile over the years the ceo's and shareholders reaped the benifits of the company, but now the little guy who put all that money in their pockets, is going to get screwed. The greed has got to stop in this country.
Just look at what the crooks did at enron, world com etc etc,
those workers lost everything. Its not right

But starting a consulting business, asking for more money, lining up possibly another job are/were at least "options." He chose to stay with the company. But he at least bettered himself and his skill base to open up his options.
You would have chosen to stay as well if the prior company you worked for said oh yeah he has a job hear blah blah then he gets laid off. Almost loses our home and the equity they had in it. Bettered himself? He didn't go to school. He has bettered himself by having good work ethics unlike most of the people he works with.

The question was asked in another topic some time back.

Can the republicans do no wrong? That includes your President.

I agree with Tony on the points of loyalty being a two-way street and the fact that there are times when we must adapt to survive in regards to BC's dad. Do I think it's right? No. But the man had options which is a testament to his will power to better himself. If he was in a minimum wage job, chose not to better himself, and was handed a raise every year, tied to inflation as you suggest, what incentive is there for him to better his situation?
Corporate scandals are bullshit and jailtime is bullshit. EVERY penny that was stolen should be paid back one way or another. Pie in the sky, yes, but a nice theory.
