13) Under Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings are 3-15-1 ATS (1-17-1 SU) when playing outdoors against a team with a winning record.
— Last three years, Vikings are 20-9 ATS as a favorite; last two years, they’re 3-7 as an underdog.
— Last year, Minnesota was +11 in turnovers, +20 in sacks, but they lost four of six games decided by 8 or fewer points.

12) From 1973-77, St Louis Cardinals went 42-29-1 under Don Coryell, who was a great coach. Redbirds have had 12 coaches since then; only one who had a winning record was Bruce Arians, who went 50-32-1 in the desert from 2013-17.

11) Seattle Seahawks were 10-2 last year in games decided by 8r or fewer points; Russell Wilson is a great QB who masks a lot of their team’s deficiencies- they were 4-0 in games decided by 3 or fewer points.

9) Sean Payton has been head coach in New Orleans for 15 years; his DC Dennis Allen has been with the Saints six years, OC Pete Carmichael 12 years. Lot of continuity there.

NHL public betting, line movement for August 17

The Bruins and Hurricanes get together Monday night for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Caesars sportsbooks opened Boston a -110 favorite and moved to -125 Sunday.

NHL betting odds are up for another quartet of conference quarterfinal matchups. The Bruins and Hurricanes land in Monday's prime-time slot for Game 4, and the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues are in a nightcap Game 4 against the Canucks.

Caesars sportsbooks provided insights on NHL opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Monday’s contests.

NHL line movement

The Bruins notched a 3-1 victory in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series, and Boston can gain firm control with a win in this 8 p.m. ET faceoff. Caesars sportsbooks opened Boston a slim -110 favorite Sunday morning, with Carolina -105, but by Sunday afternoon, the line was up to Bruins -125/Hurricanes +110.

St. Louis still has Sunday night work to do, looking to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole against Vancouver, in a 10:30 p.m. ET contest. So Monday’s Game 4, another 10:30 p.m. ET start, likely won’t be posted until Monday morning.

The Lightning own a 2-1 series lead against the Blue Jackets, heading into a 3 p.m. ET Game 4, the first matchup on the Monday docket. Caesars opened Tampa Bay -180, but that line slimmed to -162 by Sunday afternoon, with Columbus +147.

NHL public betting

The Consensus is often indicative of where public play is, and early on, it’s two-way interest in the Bruins-Hurricanes affair. Slightly contrary to the early line move, Carolina was drawing 53 percent of picks Sunday.

Lightning-Blue Jackets also had two-way interest, though with more of a lean toward the favorite, with Tampa Bay landing 58 percent of early Consensus picks.
