NHL Odds: Winnipeg Jets Host Last Place Detroit Red Wings Tuesday Night

There’s no worse team in the NHL than the Detroit Red Wings right now. They’ve won just seven times in 31 games played, and are a whopping six points behind the second-worst club. Not only that, but they’re also in the midst of an 11-game losing streak. The Wings hit the road for the first of a home-and-home against the Winnipeg Jets this Tuesday, and with the Jets starting to heat up, this one is shaping up to be a lopsided affair.

It no secret that the Wings are poor at both ends of the ice. They allow nearly four goals per game against (3.97) and score just 2.13 goals on average. That’s resulted in a mind-boggling minus-57 goal differential through 31 games. It’s not for a lack of trying from their young core, led by Tyler Bertuzzi (10 goals, 15 assists), but they don’t have the depth or high-end talent needed to win in the NHL.

The Jets, who’ve won seven of their last 10 games, are going to do their best to continue the Wings’ nightmare. Coming off of a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, the Jets will attempt to make it two wins in a row and close the gap in the Western Conference’s Central Division. The action gets under way at 8 PM ET, so be sure to tune in.
