    Armadillo: Friday's six-pack

-- Bills 22, Jets 17-- Rex Ryan beats his old team here; Ryan Fitzpatrick is having his left (non-throwing) thumb operated on today.

    -- Warriors 129, T'wolves 116-- Curry had 46; game was 75-63 at the half.

-- TCU loses star WR Doctson (wrist) for season; big blow for them.

-- Rajan Rondo played all 48:00 in last two Sacramento games; he is only guy this year to play all 48:00 in a game.

-- Braves traded Andrelton Simmons to the Angels for Erick Aybar and prospects; that'll hurt the Atlanta pitchers- he is great on defense.

-- 2016 baseball schedule came out before the regular season ended, so it is odd that the Mets open 2016 in Kansas City.

    **********

Armadillo: Friday's List of 13: Things I'm looking for this weekend......

    13) College basketball starts today: Gonzaga-Pitt play in Japan, Washington plays Texas in China, for some reason. Some surprisingly good games for season openers, so I'll be glued to those all day/night today.

    12) Oklahoma-Baylor is a really good football game Saturday; Baylor freshman QB Stitham threw for 419 yards in his first college start, now the competition gets a lot better with the Sooners coming to Waco. Bears beat Oklahoma three of last four years, ending a very long series losing streak.

    11) Patriots lost their last three games with the Giants; two of those were in Super Bowls. Interesting 4:25 game Sunday from Swamp Stadium.

    10) Washington State is 4-0 as road underdog this year; they're 6-2 in last eight games since losing their opener to a I-AA team. Can Coogs beat UCLA in Pasadena?

    9) 8-0 Carolina played in primetime last two weeks, now they visit a Tennessee squad they should beat-- trap game alert for the Panthers.

    8) Duke-Pittsburgh played 51-48/58-55 games the last two years; both teams are on two-game skids after 6-1 starts-- which team ends their skid?

    7) Underrated college hoop games on Friday: UAB-Auburn, Colorado-Iowa State, Pepperdine-Fresno State, Belmont-Marquette.

    6) Vikings-Raiders matches up two teams on the rise; Oakland scored 34+ points in its last three games. Bridgewater is expected back at QB for Minnesota.

    5) When LSU lost to Alabama last year, they laid an egg the next week too, getting shut out at Arkansas. Tigers host Arkansas this week; big game for their season.

    4) Andy Reid is 14-2 in post-bye games; Chiefs won their last two pre-bye games. Denver scored two TDs in last 0:36 to win first matchup this season- they lost for first time last week. Rematch with Chiefs is Sunday in Denver.

    3) When Alabama beat Mississippi State LY, Bulldogs were #1 in country, but still an 8-point underdog; Crimson Tide waxed LSU last week, but now has potential trap game with Dak Prescott and the surging Bulldogs in Starkville.

    2) Cardinals have been better than Seattle so far this year, but until they take the NFC West title away from Seahawks, SEattle is the champ. This is Arizona's window to take over the NFC. We'll see if they can take a big step here.

    1) My alma mater is on national TV tonight; Albany at Kentucky. When I was in college, many, many years ago, our arch-rival was Potsdam State, located 25 miles north of the middle of nowhere. ESPN was just being developed. Hopefully the Great Danes will be wearing purple uniforms, not the awful black ones they used to wear.

Anyway, college hoop is my favorite time of year; enjoy the games!!!!
