Petition Needs Signing

Hey Guys,

I created a petition that I need 25,000 signatures on in order to have the White House view it and issue a response. This needs to be achieved in a 30 day period or the petition is null and void. If you could take a few minutes and sign it I would appreciate it.

If you do not agree with the petition I ask that you just do not sign it. I do not wish to get in a battle here over what the petition is asking the government to take a look at or my thoughts on the situation.

why should we have to pay for student loans as well, it took me 10 years to pay off mine, now i should pay off yours, is this really what our country is turning into?

maybe 50% of these people should graduate in 3.5 years instead of milking the system and graduating in 5-6 years...

please explain to me why you think the gov't should forgive outstanding student loans?

U sign the loan you get the money you pay it back. That simple.

Ironic that you post this on a betting-related website and have the audasity to display your betting records while asking for loan forgiveness.
You shouldn't ask anyone to forgive your loans as this just sets the burden on other people. I took out loans and finished in 4 years like I was supposed to. I have had such a hard time finding work since graduating (and now finally found a GOOD job) and I somewhat blame the economy. However, I would never ask that my loans be forgotten about just because I have struggled. I asked for that money and I should pay it back. Universities are robbing students and our economy sucks. Why don't you do something about that rather than asking for other people to take care of your stuff?

I posted this here because this is a place I have belonged to for roughly 8 years with a group of people that share thoughts and ideas. I am not personally asking for a handout. I have an outrageous amount of debt that will make it near impossible for me to have a child because it will take me 25 years to pay it all back. I know what I signed to get the money to go to college. However I am also smart enough to know there is a serious problem with this country.

We have given handouts to banks and they nearly crippled our economy. The economy still has not recovered and there seems to be no end in sight. The government has recently committed to buying $40Billion of mortgage backed securities per month with no limit on how much they will spend. These toxic assets caused the financial crisis we saw in the past and continue to experience.

Now, to be fair, I am finishing grad school, have a great job and own a co-op(with 28 more years of payments). I managed to be lucky enough to get and keep this job right out of college. There are many people who are not as lucky as me. These people are stuck with years of payments left and no hope in sight. Colleges charge outrageous amounts of money for a shitty education in my mind. Not one class I took in undergrad prepared me for any job I would need. You learn everything you need to know on the job. However, society says that we need these pieces of paper to even get an interview. Nowadays, my job as an example, wants staff members to have a master's degree before interviewing. Whether they do not want to pay for the graduate degree or they think it makes people better, I do not personally know. Either way, colleges charge way too much and since there will be no reform of the education system any time soon, I thought this could be a way to help jumpstart the economy. As I said, it may not be the best idea but at least it is an idea. Government is so concerned with big banks and investment firms that they are forgetting about the little people.

I did not want this to be a full blown out argument. If you did not agree please just post nothing or do not sign like I asked. There will be people that agree and people that disagree for everything that is done. That is just how it is. I thank you all again for taking the time to read this and sign if you choose to do so.
