        Hey Dumber....

Tell us all how the 150 million people in this country get out of paying taxes. I'd love to know just how to do that since I'm in that lower 51%. According to your "intelligence," there's a lot of us that somehow don't have to pay federal income taxes.

There is absolutely no facts to back up that 49% or whatever that erroneous figure is. I pay federal income taxes and I'm in that 49% bracket. I pay a lot of tax as a matter of fact. And I know that the majority of people in the lower 49% pay income taxes. That figure is a bullshit amount spewed out by the GOP bullshit machine. Keep drinking the kool aid buddy!

And. I already answered your question in the other thread with a 15% flat tax that the RICH would never allow to pass. After all, they hold all the cards with what gets passed and what doesn't. All about donations and you know that.

LIAR! LIAR! ummmm...yeah, the IRS does actually record stats relative to income taxes...and, yeah....what you say above in your first paragraph is an Obamaism....yeah, that's 1%er code for "an intentional lie despite a mountain of facts in to the contrary"

Kaz Dog...The more of your posts I read the more convinced I am that you do NOT pay federal income taxes. IN fact, as a CPA for 32 years, I'll be you RIGHT now, say $1,000, that if we order a transcript from the Service for 2010, you did NOT pay a nickle of Federal Income Taxes. Anything you might have had withheld from your checks was refunded to you, and even more than you paid in, through the BS Earned Income Credit. The sad truth is that you probably don't even know how to determine how much you paid or didn't pay in income taxes...even looking at you return. Reply to me if you wanna piece of my bet....We can have one of the mods hold the money if you like while we wait the six weeks for the service to send your 2010 transcript. Even if you don't post anything about it, for your own benefit, you really should review your return and calcualte how much in income taxes you actually did pay.

I posted in the other thread facts that dispute your BS claim that the lower 49% don't pay ANY income tax. That's complete BS. And there's no way in fucking hell I would let someone named Rebel78 from Biloxi Mississippi look at my tax returns. Go pound sand somewhere else....

Okay. okay...After seeing your response I realize my bet wasn't that fair anyway. How 'bout I give you +150 to see if you actually pay any income taxes...Seriously, Kaz, so much of what you have posted in this regard has been, let's say, naive, that I just wanted to explain to you how to determine exactly how much in federal income taxes you did actually pay.

I am single, no dependents and no credits. I venture to guess that I do pay income tax. I'm not an accountant nor do I claim to be a financial wiz or even remotely educated in finances. Anyone on here that knows me can verify me being SINK.

Gotcha...didn't mean my last post to be quite as offensive as it reads. Fact is, Kaz, much as anything I was trying to demonstrate just how fucked up the IR Code is...unless you have that background (taxes and finance) really small percentage of people actually do understand what they are paying in taxes. Frankly, that BS complexity is one of the primary reasons I resigned my partnership with the firm I was with for over 20 years. I hate the CODE, the morons in Congress who legislate it without having a damn clue about what they're doing, and the fact that (maybe surprisingly to you) I despise the way they use the Code to reward their own cronies at the expense of regular people like us.

Well we definitely agree about that. The tax code is too complex and there are just too many creative ways around things provided you have money to hire someone who can jockey around it. I love the flat tax but it will probably never happen.

Yeah, Kaz, but you know the reason for the complexity is not "happenstance". As I alluded to earlier, much of it...most of it...is done that way to "hide" from public consumption which of the slimes' special interests are being paid off...IN short, I am not nearly as opposed to a tax increase....across the board...as you might think. The "fairest" tax, I have determined after decades of observation and research is a federal sales tax....Tax us on our lifestyle, not on our income. If I want to make a million a year, have no car, live under a bridge, and hunt my food, I'm not using any "public services" so I shouldn't be paying shit. On the other hand, and I can tell you firsthand this happens all the time, people who can afford to get sweetheart loans, "earn" little or nothing, but drive Porsches, live in mansions, vacation six times a year, pay little in income taxes since "borrowed" money is not taxable. Again, tax people on what they CONSUME and therefore tas them on their lifestyle...not their income. Taxing income vs consumption promotes the really rich being able to live like kings and pay taxes like paupers...Actually, without an intent to be arrogant, I could really make the tax system fair...but as you say, the pols will never let that happen.

Going back to my assertion that I'm not completely opposed to higher taxes, the reason I will NOT support any kind of increase on ANYBODY is that all that would do is give the sleeze in DC MORE FREAKING MONEY to piss away. When they learn to control spending, they can talk to me...Until then, FUCK them...BTW, have you ever looked into the "projects" and amounts of money that doled out in the porkulous??? If you haven't I would strongly emcourage you to do so....Even really liberal people can't possibly approve of spending tax dollars to do a myriad of ludicrous things, i.e., $500,000 to study shrimp behavior on underwater treadmills, $625,000 to tear up a one year old bike path in MD that is currently 42 inches wide and then to relay the same path at 48 inches wide...and it goes on and on and on...Look at some of that crap, and please don't justify it by saying it "saved or created a job"... please don't.

I can justify spending a certain amount of much needed tax money spent on the less fortunate in this country. Period. It's what I believe in and I don't have a problem with people less fortunate than me benefiting from social programs to help them get by. They aren't getting rich nor will they ever be anything more than poor. The majority that is. What I can't justify and where I have problems with Neocon's is when they want to cut those programs for people in this country at the expense of military spending, which amounts to trillions more in tax dollars comparatively speaking.

Morning Kaz. Sorry bout not getting back last night, but had a few issues at home. I am working on the ongoing discussion we were having yesterday today and will get back. Finding that we may have more in common than either of us thought, but still big differences in degrees. REcognizing that the Heritage Foundation is a center right org, I think the study on governmental dependence yesterday is very timely, This is a very long, often detailed study, but one of the things that bothers me the most is demonstrated in Fig 13 of the report linked below. This points out an aspect of all this that really pisses me off. As seen on this chart, the American DEPENDENT on the government for financial support, actually enjoy MORE disposable income that the "average American". Would like you take on that chart in particular. Thanks, will be back:

The 2012 Index of Dependence on Government
