  • Herman Cain for President in 2012

    Mr. Herman Cain
Candidate for the Presidency of the United States of America
    c/o Friends of Herman Cain
    P.O. Box 2158
    Stockbridge, GA 30281

    Dear Mr. Cain:

By way of introduction, I am a fifty five year old CPA and real estate developer residing in Biloxi, Mississippi. More significantly, in these days of the loss of American status in the world, I am one of the organizers and de-facto leaders of the Mississippi Gulf Coast TEA Party. I have been profoundly impressed with your positions, at least as you have articulated them to media outlets, since I began doing my research on you and your background many months ago. My current objective is to learn as much as I possibly can about your positions on everything important to maintaining the fabric of traditional American life from the most mundane of daily social issues, to foreign policy positions, to my own area of expertise the national as well as the global economy, but above all….your staunch defense of the U.S. Constitution and the manner in which the Obama Administration seeks, sadly very openly now, the shredding of that precious document.

Neither I, nor the millions of Americans who agree with the TEA Party principles, are “Citizens of the World”. Hell no, WE ARE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and we cry out for a leader who shares that undeniable truth. Tentatively anyway, Mr. Cain, you seem to be such a leader. This nation is at war, not just internationally, but domestically as well. And, it is the war in North America, not abroad, that threatens the existence of these great United States. The war on the homefront is not one of Republicans versus Democrats, and it’s not even one of Conservatives versus Liberals. No, Mr. Cain, this is a war pitting Progressivism against Americanism. At stake is very fabric of American life, American exceptionalism, and American freedom. It is only the domestic war that can ever bring down the United States.

Had I been writing this letter a year ago, I would probably have had only a handful of major issues that were of concern to patriotic Americans. Sadly though, the keystone cops who have occupied the White House rarely let a week go by in which they don’t again kick the American people in the gut with yet another attack on the People through their disdain and blatant disregard for our Constitution. At this point, I would like to state explicitly that, while TEA Partiers are mad as hell, as a group we are educated, informed, logical, principled, and emotionally sound. As I know that you know, the Propaganda arm of the Administration (NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, The NYT, and WP to name just a few) does its utmost to portray us a somehow unhinged, violent, racist, and angry. Well, they’re certainly right about the angry part at least. No, we are thoughtful and fearful about the hijacking of America, and we are courageous. We are seeking, and hopefully it could be you, a Presidential candidate who shares our values, our fear, but above all, our courage, in defending this nation from the Progressive movement that seeks to destroy “Americanism”.

I have so much to try to convey to you and ask you about, but I recognize that the likelihood of you ever seeing this letter is slim. Unless I restrict its length, slim becomes impossible so I have tried to condense my thoughts as much as possible. The text that follows represents my attempt to take the input from the 2,000 or so members of our MS GC TEA Party and present it to you and / or your advisers.

We Are Sick to Death of Politics: We don’t care if you are Republican, Democrat, or Martian. What we do care about is that elected leaders hold Conservative values. When leaders are asked a question, we expect an answer to THAT question. We are probably more intelligent than most of the “politicians” in Washington and the only reason that fact is not generally accepted is that the media, in general, is devoid of any sense of pride in its work and is bereft of any values, morals, and principles. We can see through the lame, elementary “spin” imposed on any question of significance. Make no mistake, the Republicans are almost as insulting to our intelligence as the Democrats and we demand that that kind of treatment stop! We want a leader that tells us the truth and one who answers a specific question before subjecting it to polling.

“Compromise” leads to Ruin: Not all Americans are alike and the fact is that in many cases, members of different factions hold strong opinions and objectives that are mutually exclusive. This is irrefutable with respect to Capitalism versus Socialism, and any attempt to satisfactorily merge those two concepts into anything workable is far worse than either of the two individually. Can you imagine what the results would have been if a Congressional compromise committee had tried to create a dog? Two heads, seven legs, four eyes, and a horses tail? No, Mr. Cain that is what elections are for as BHO so frequently reminded the serfs during the nightmare of his party controlling the White House and both houses of Congress. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Determining what is right and what is wrong is an ABSOLUTE; it is NOT a political decision. We seek to elect someone in 2012 who understands all of these concepts and will do what is right even in the face of an all-out, withering assault by the media, the unions, and the special interests who have been running this country for far too long.

Public Union Leadership is America’s Enemy and Public Union Members are Simply Their Useful Idiots: Our Constitution, with the exception of The Bible, the noblest writing in the history of mankind, guarantees to all citizens, equal opportunity, NOT EQUAL RESULTS! Public employee unions promote every conceivable position that runs counter to the very ideas upon which this nation was created. Union leaders, not the rank and file, have for the past several decades, actively engaged in a pattern of attempting to destabilize American society by creating a class warfare that the People themselves refused to embark upon. I must admit that I don’t quite understand what the end game is for these corrupt union leaders. I can only suppose it affords them more personal power and hence, elevates them to the elite class that so arrogantly thinks they know better than We the People. At the height of the power of the Soviet Socialist regime, when the citizenry of that nation were so oppressed, the ruling elite wanted for nothing in terms of personal wealth and power.

The U.S. Department of Education Has Got To Be the FIRST (of Several) Federal Agency to be Abolished:Of all government services that the federal government has hijacked, the Department of Education has had the most damaging effect on our society of them all. Under the broad umbrella of limited federal government, education is arguably the most egregious usurpation of power ever foisted upon our nation. In no other arena is the failure of big government more pronounced than in education. Education is a local matter, perhaps a State matter at most. The “educated elite” in Washington have no RIGHT to tell us in South Mississippi how to educate our children…and that’s just from a principled perspective. That alone is sufficient to warrant that agency’s demise. When the tens of billions of taxpayer dollars spent by that department on an annual basis are considered, there is no way to justify its existence. As if more proof were needed, just look at the quality of the “education”, and I use that term loosely, that our children are receiving today. In the greatest country on earth, our students don’t rank in the top ten in the world in knowledge of such basic subjects as math and science. It should be recognized also, though the media will never “get it”, that the creation of the USDOE coincides with the shift in elementary and secondary curriculum from the three Rs to a curriculum focusing largely on Progressive ideals, the loss of a sense of pride in America, a focus on all the environmental “crimes” committed by Americans, and the students’ place in the “global society”. The abysmal failure of the Progressive agenda in the early twentieth century sent that anti-American movement underground for six decades. Though it has taken four decades to accomplish, the currently booming Progressive movement owes its resurgence to forty years of “indoctrinating” our young and that period coincides with the creation of the DOE.

Mr. Cain, there are many other issues that we are concerned about, but I don’t want to impose any further at this point on your time. Perhaps, if this letter is read I will write a follow-up and address those at that time. Before closing, however, I would like to pose a few other questions concerning the viability of your campaign. I will try to do so in a short manner without much attached opinion. These questions are exceedingly important to Conservatives throughout America because it is essential for America’s survival that BHO and his leftist cronies be defeated next year.

    · You have probably surmised that a large bloc of Conservatives who will definitely vote in November of 2012 have no respect whatsoever for what political wonks refer to as the Republican Establishment or the Democratic Establishment. Do you share that view? Do you recognize that on the national level each political party is infected with either overt or latent “Progressives”? While more are Democrats, the Republican Establishment has its share of Progressives as well (John McCain and Lindsey Graham to name a few who always seek the cameras). Not to mention the Republican National Committee. Are you willing to, and can you succeed, without paying homage to them?
    · It is my lay opinion that it will be a huge task for you to secure the Republican nomination without the backing of the RNC. I do believe, though, that if your campaign embarked upon a campaign strategy not seen since Ronald Reagan you could force the RNC to support your candidacy to the fullest extent. That strategy, admittedly risky, would involve a new approach that I believe might lead to victory in the general election…if you can secure the nomination. Principled Americans are tired of being lied to by everyone seeking their vote. Could you, or would you, stand before the American people and tell them just how much trouble our Republic is in and that drastic steps are necessary to survive? This would include a frontal assault on our budget crisis, and any serious debate about that MUST include tackling the root cause of our dire economic conditions…the state of our entitlement situation. Will you analyze the entitlement nightmare, formulate a plan to gain immediate control over this area of the economy, and then honestly explain to the American people what sacrifices would be required from virtually every segment of the population? This will certainly negatively impact your support from the Progressives of both parties, but my feeling is that such honesty and forthrightness would likely resonate with Conservative Republicans and a large segment of those who consider themselves to be independents. When presented with the personal sacrifices inherent in such a plan as being the best alternative to the economic road to hell we are currently on, I would hope that a majority of American voters would support you. If they don’t, I fear the war for America’s soul is already lost.
    · Lastly, how do you and your senior advisers intend to fund your campaign knowing that BHO will be able to raise an infinite amount of money from all the leftist groups, labor unions, K-Street lobbyists, etc? Is it even possible in today’s world for a true beltway outsider to even compete for the Presidency when the checking account situation is so rigged. When you consider the love affair between BHO and the so-called main stream media that inexplicably continues, can that obstacle be overcome as well?

Mr. Cain, I wish you tremendous success in this endeavor and pledge to you all the support, be it mostly just from promoting your candidacy, that I can give. Please just say what you mean and mean what you say even in the face of the so-called experts constantly analyzing the “political fallout from your every move and every word”

    God Bless America,

    Tim M, TEA Party Patriot

I'm putting the O/U at 4 years before your little tea experiment goes away for good. I can't wait because it's giving libertarians a really bad name. Abolish the Dept of Education so that you all is Mississippi can teach revisionist history. If it were up to yall, Reagan would be transformed into one of the founding fathers, and trickle down economics would be in the bill of rights. Yall would teach that right between the book of Leviticus and Revelations.

Hmm....very insightful response to the issues I raised in my letter to Mr. Cain. Why don't you grow up and get off the government tit? And, yes, if you are in a teachers' union, you ARE on the tit. If you have anything of any substance about the letter I posted, talk about it. Otherwise, why don't you just go out and try to organize somebody? Millions of feeble minds out there that you could convince of something without making any kind of a case about it. And, by the way, if the TEA Party thrives for another year and a half it will outlive your messiah's term in office. You do know there were Congressional and Senatorial elections in 2010 don't you?
