  • Incoming House GOP chairmen have a long list of issues to investigate

    By Philip Rucker

House Republican leaders announced plans Monday for congressional investigations into a wide range of issues, from corruption in Afghanistan to Washington's regulation of private industries, using the power of their new majority to launch probes that could embarrass the Obama administration.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who will become chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee when the 112th Congress is sworn in Wednesday, said he would lead six major investigations in the first three months of the year. This is an ambitious undertaking by conventional standards, as congressional investigations often take months to bear fruit.

How many millions is this going to cost us? If it leads to no where then someone should have to repay the taxpayers, because were the one's footing this shit.

I agree with the waste of time and money this will probably be.

Just look at the Charlie Rangel case. OOOHHHHHH a censure. The guy would be in jail if he were a regular taxpayer. But he is a member of the Washington establishment. The biggest corrupt corporation.

A censure is like double secret probation
      NBA is a joke

BC...Do you really have a problem with Washington AND the Administration being accountable for their deeds and misdeeds??? I mean it's not like big labor has been the recipient of tens of millions of dollars from this Administration with the cost being borne by the taxpayers, right? And, ummm, I'm sure it has nothng to do with quid pro quo of BO being the recipient of 85+% of union members. And, Trumpka's many, many visits to the WH...I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

I didn't say that I had a problem with it I said that it's going to cost millions to do what the GOP wants to do. And if they don't come up with anything we the taxpayers are paying for it.

And as for the millions which is actually billions loaned to these companies was supposed to get the economy going. It did save a lot of Jobs at GM. And I read where Bush was actually working on something and his bailout plan would have been more money.
