Great post, Watchtower. I had seen the fact that insiders were heading for the hills for the past two quarters actually and that is the ONLY thing I've seen on Wall Street that has made any sense since 2008. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that, given that backdrop, the major indices should have already fallen off a cliff. Socially, politically, and financially the capitalist regime in the US has been manipulated by outside forces (Geitner, the FED, etc) for quite a while now. In the end it is unlikely to be a "happy" scenario, but at least I've been accumulating gold, copper, and zinc for almost 18 months now. The reason it won't be happy, as you surely know, is that if things continue on the road we're on, even the gains I reap, in nominal terms, will likely do little but come close to keeping up with what could easily become hyper inflation in 2012-13. By all traditional metrics, we should, IMO, be looking at Dow 8,000 and NASDAQ somewhere in the 1,400 range. Eventually, wherever the prop up monies are coming from now, they will evaporate and, once again, fortunes that took lifetimes to accumulate will also disappear. My theory is that when that happens it will do much to reinforce the liberal postulate that "government is the only way out for all of us". The fact is "State-Capitalism" is not a practical alternative and will, as it always has, fail. The State always extinguishes the Capitalism when attempts are made to merge the two.

    Great post though.
