I work in education and I must admit that they warn us not to send out stuff like the guy above did to parents. If he wrote the song or even played it at a bar then it wouldn't be a big deal, but he chose to send it out to parents and I'm sure a lot of them didn't like the tune. Look, I'm all for freedom of speech, but I assure you he was warned not to do stuff like this and it appers that he was dumb enough to do it. i don't feel sorry for someone that makes that dumb of a mistake."It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." -Mark Twain

This guy has no case against the school just like the transit worker has no case for being fired for burning the Koran. If the school's policy was no person can use school email for personal gain or profit, then he's gone and has no case. He was charging for the song and sent the email out to players, faculty and students. This has nothing to do with allowing him to exercise freedom of speech. It's company policy folks and he broke it. That's all the school needed to fire him. See ya.
The transit worker being fired is an even easier one. The last thing a 'mass transit' company wants is a someone working for them that shows obvious hostility towards a particular race of people. Again, company code of ethics policy was broken by this guy. No brainer. Gone. And not much he can do about it. Has nothing to do with the transit company not allowing him freedom of speech. He was allowed to burn the Koran.

Sometimes, these rules are written, then changed or upheld when they are challenged in court.
