Recovery Act: How Obama's Stimulus Is Changing America - TIME

I sure hope so Bigs, but I'm just not sure I buy it. There's still too much evidence out there to argue against it. Sounds like a lot of "hope and change" still being thrown around in that article.

I'm really interested to see how it plays out.

Everybody, including the unborn, has a vested interest in the outcome.

My thoughts are that I don't think the recovery act is/was being used as initially intendd. It turned into a Christmas tree for a lot of pet projects. Many in the article aren't going to create the jobs promised. It was intended as a grab bag of goodies imo sold as a panacea for unemployment. Plus, I don't think there is a way to measure a "saved" job. I mean MORE state aid was just passed, yet the money from rec act to states was supposed to do that. Does that mean it saved 2x the jobs? And when does the aid end?

I would also add that the article should reflect the adjusted cost of the Recovery Act, as well at the interest bring the total over 1 trillion to the debt.

That's what you got out of the article? You're worried that a saved job can't be measured? And they're not calculating the interest? You have to be kidding me.

What would you like me to get out of the article? You asked my opinion. The article, imo, confirms that the Recovery Act isn't what was originally intended. What don't you understand about that?

Do you want a comment on whether or not the govt should be in the investment capital biz? Do you want a comment on the tax breaks in the act? Do you want a comment on the "green" investment?

You ask a question, get an answer, then bitch about the answer.

It's just amazing that that's what you get out of the article, that's all. They don't show the interest.

that's not a fair post. NOBODY should agree with someone on EVERYTHING! if that happens, they are a phony in my opinion. disagreements aren't the problem, the name calling, fabricating/lying, repeating the same tired political talking points, and generalizing of others is.

disagreements are fun when handled like adults.
