I'm all for trying whatever he needed to to get us out of this mess. His options were few. Some things worked and some have not. But he's tried. I don't have a problem paying taxes. And I certainly don't have a problem with not cutting taxes to the rich in this country and taxing them more. Doesn't bother me in the least bit. We'll always pay taxes, bottom line. The less screwed the middle class gets, the better. If that means taxing the rich more, and eliminating all their god damn loopholes, I'm all for it....

Reps blew up deficit with Medicare script plan. I haven't seen one conservative on here defend the lack of payment for the program. It was popular but stupid to not have it paid for. And it's not like you can repeal it.

The ends don't always justify the means. And I don't know what laws or programs that were enacted that has helped the middle class as a whole. Have some houses been saved? Yes. Look at the chart Spark posted in the Mexico thread and I would love to hear your spin on the "actual facts and numbers".

            • * Obama's stimulus, passed in his first month in office, will cost more than the entire Iraq War -- more than $100 billion (15%) more.

              * Just the first two years of Obama's stimulus cost more than the entire cost of the Iraq War under President Bush, or six years of that war.

              * Iraq War spending accounted for just 3.2% of all federal spending while it lasted.

              * Iraq War spending was not even one quarter of what we spent on Medicare in the same time frame.

              * Iraq War spending was not even 15% of the total deficit spending in that time frame. The cumulative deficit, 2003-2010, would have been four-point-something trillion dollars with or without the Iraq War.

              * The Iraq War accounts for less than 8% of the federal debt held by the public at the end of 2010 ($9.031 trillion).

              * During Bush's Iraq years, 2003-2008, the federal government spent more on education that it did on the Iraq War. (State and local governments spent about ten times more.)

For anyone to come on here and see others weren't throwing stones just as much and sometimes more and calling him out on numerous occasions trying to incite him, just like KB said he was doing, is delusional. Monte ought to keep the rant section and get rid of you. You've certainly ran your share of people off of here.

It's been done to MM, Efaw, Vit, GMA, just to name a few. Just be honest and say you don't like them because their opinion differs. The site should not be called Bettorschat or Politicalchat, it should be called Rightiechat. Because there are more Conservatives that don't want to hear what the other side has to say. I think Husker would agree. Sorry Dave, but Gbell and Husker are just as much on here with politics only. I'm not going to do a tally cuz i couldn't give two shits. But I guess that matters to some of you. It doesn't to me. I do like the idea of a single politics thread. Then it's one thread and will be like Urgent thread...
I'm not enterin the knock on Wayne but k.b and vols fan, they have called me all kind of different names just because I voiced a different opinion about the proposed mosque 3 blocks away from the wtc. I have to believe that calling me a fuckin idiot on 2-3 different occasions would warrant some type of response from someone. If the rules are going to be in place they should be adhered by everyone. I'm not going to get exchanges with immature people who only come backs are name calling and road rage. You guys might have a different political but that doesn't give me any right to call anyone names.
