Edward "Ed" Mezvinsky, born January 17, 1937, is a former congressman. A Democrat, he represented Iowa's 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives for two terms, from 1973 to 1977.

In March 2001, Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 charges of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud. Nearly $10 million was involved in the crimes. Shortly after his indictment, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but the judge at his trial disallowed a mental illness defense. After serving five years in federal prison, he was released in April 2008. He is expected to remain on federal probation until 2011, and owes substantial restitution to his victims.

kb... did u hear jkf got shot in dallas? way to grab this breaking story... they mention this everytime they say who chelsea was dating and then marryied... the couple has been going out for years and the story has been well known .... good try though... u should call drudge and see if he is hiring

really no reason to bring what the kids are doing into anything... obama took the high road about palins kids when asked, when u know the rep would have gone crazy if he or his vice prez pick had a teenage pregnant daughter, also not much said when the bush daughters were using fake id's and caught underage drinking....who chelsea father in law is just doesnt matter

i dont think obama begrudges success like the limbaughs and the fringe always claim... he prob doesnt celebrate as much as rep
