Ok so dems now lead republicans 49 to 43 percent in gallup generic poll. I see fox news and a lot of posts here and it seems the dems have no chance. I guess not everybody not unhappy. Any thoughts??

I don't think it is going to be the blood bath many are reporting this fall. I think a good amount of seats in the House will be picked up, but not enough for the repubs to take it back. IMO, Gibbs' statement about "possibly losing the House" was intentional to fire up Dems.
I don't see any way the Senate is taken back by repubs. Maybe a few seats, but I think losing Nev is going to be demoralizing. That was the big trophy and I don't think it is going to happen.
Repubs are between a rock and a hard place. Localize their race and they let the Holy Three off the hook for what it inspiring A LOT of anger, but make it exclusively a referendum on them and have a more difficult chance. (NY House Seat)
I would LOVE if EVERYBODY voting would still vote their party (if they have one) but vote against the incumbent. That way if someone is that married to their party, they can still vote for their ticket, yet get rid of the incumbent. Wouldn't happen, but a nice thought.

national numbers have absolutely nothing to do with individual races. a dem could win 80-20% in a big city, and 5 rep's could win 52-48%. if you combine the total numbers and the dem's lead 58-42%. like i said before, people can play with numbers to show what they want.
you would have to look at each race individually.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

If you look at this poll from the Washington Post from the article Spark posted a couple of days ago, it's the % of voters saying they have some or no confidence in the leaders to make the right decision. As much as it shows little confidence in the Dems, it also shows even less confidence in the Repubs...

you have attacked dick morris and fox in the past, now you are mentioning them. maybe fox isn't as one sided as you and others are trying to claim. no doubt hannity is very pro rep and beck attacks obama all the time but also has knocked rep's that made govt too big when they were in control. most of the hosts are for smaller govt and paying for programs (is that really a rep theme judging from their past?). most of the shows on fox do have someone from each side of the isle in equal numbers, you rarely see this on msnbc. morning joe is ok because joe scarborough has control of the show (he is outnumbered though), and dyllon ratigan i like a lot and is far from liberal.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
