  • what the hell is wrong with politicians?apologizing to bp, saying no to unemployed

First they apologize to bp and then they vote down unemployment benefits

They have no shame, theyre holding fund raisers as we speak with joe barton and bp lobbyist.

Unemployment benefits were paid out for way too long. Do you think that these people would actually atttmept to get a job as long as they were collecting unemplyment insurance? No one should receive over 26 weeks of unemployment insurance, and another 26 week extension. That is it. There are way too many freeloaders in the system as is.

6 months is enough time to find a job. these extensions just make people hold off to try and find a better job instead of just taking a job and continue to look for a better one. unemployment insurance was only supposed to be a bridge, not a way of life.

I love it when you get rightwingd confederates making comments like the 2 posters above and then if or when they hit a streak of bad luck theyre the main ones in the unemployment lines.

If they have a family with kids and the economy is especially hard and they have to try to provide health benefits, food, educational supplies and pay mortgage utilities.......We spend triliions on idiotic wars but more than 6 months of unemployment that most employees pay into anyway is too much............

An easy answer is that if you take away the benefits the people will get jobs. The problem is finding the jobs. Especially finding the exact type of work they did before for the same kind of money.

i would rather have the govt help people that take much lower paying jobs, than someone sitting on their ass unwilling to take a less paying job.

great system here. do nothing and get govt assistance, but work at a low paying job and get nothing.
