govt bureaucracy hampered the katrina response, and it's doing the same thing here. why aren't all the people that blamed bush for katrina, blaming obama for this mess? some reluctantly are, very lightly though.

THE CRAZIEST THING BY FAR.....is the fact that people are STILL calling this a "oil spill" even comparing it to Exxon Valdez ? WHAT ? OK... The Valdez spill was 10.8 million Gallons of oil......i'll just use a number already posted in this thread...This "spill" is 36 million gallons of oil and counting ( and most sources have said it has went way past that #) you might call it an "oil spill" I call it a never ending oil gushing catastrophe.[/QUOTE]

I personally think it's easily 10x bigger then the valdez spill....Everyone is down playing this situation...I just hope we don't get a hurricane rolling threw that area anytime soon...

I personally think the admin and BP....If they weren't downplaying it, they'd tell us exactly how much oil is flowing out of the pipe, they'd have emergency workers on the beaches doing what ever they can, instead they send part time workers down when obama goes to the coast and makes people who don't live down there that BP has workers down there everyday.

Have a special unit (within BP) to help for all the buisnesses who are affected by this disaster, instead they are delaying all payments. Just seems like everything is in slow motion.

I don't live down there, but i know they are underestimating this beast, and i bet they have nothing in the works incase of a hurricane.

If BP was smart, they'd start spending the Billions of cash and help out the fisherman, the buisnesses on the ocean and have a full time crew from LA, AL to FL out there from sun up to sun down and show america that they care.

Show us that it won't take 3 months to get a payment to some of these company's that will go under very soon, show us something good, cuz i haven't seen one reason to think otherwise.

I'm still in awe that they thought throwing mudd in the pipe, with that much pressure coming out from 1 miles deep, 4 miles total to get to the oil, that it would work, all they were doing is delaying the outcome that they have no solution...cap this BP

it truly amazes me why people think BP should pay claims in a month or less. i am sure they are getting a lot of BS claims and have to verify the legit ones. a lot of businesses get payed 30, 60, 90 days, and these are pretty cut and dry transactions. i am sure they will pay all legit claims. it's just more talking points trying to pile on the bash BP band wagon.

since they never got any oil from this well. how is anyone to know exactly how mush oil was coming out? all anyone can do is speculate. why does it matter right now? this is where the administration is failing miserably. they are too worried about trying to make BP look bad so that they can try and deflect the screw ups on their part. FIX THE PROBLEM, and THEN worry about all this other stuff.

mud IS how they cap wells after drilling them until they get the pumping lines in place. where is your information coming from?
