  • Dems Admit Obamacare Will Cost US Companies Billions

After Obamacare was signed into law last month several US corporations reported that the democrat’s health care bill would cost their company millions of dollars.

On top of AT&T’s $1 billion, the writedown wave so far includes Deere & Co., $150 million; Caterpillar, $100 million; AK Steel, $31 million; 3M, $90 million; and Valero Energy, up to $20 million. Verizon has also warned its employees about its new higher health-care costs, and there will be many more in the coming days and weeks.

In response, Congressional democrats announced that they would hold show trials to humiliate these US companies for the bad publicity.

After several more corporations announced their losses from Obamacare the democrats decided to cancel their Congressional dog and pony show.
Today, Congressional democrats finally admitted the corporations were correct and that Obamacare would end up costing US companies billions of dollars.
    The New York Times reported:

When major companies declared that a provision of the new health care law would hurt earnings, Democrats were skeptical. But after investigating, House Democrats have concluded that the companies were right to tell investors and the government about the expected adverse effects of the law on their financial results…

In a memorandum summarizing its investigation, the Democratic staff of the committee said, “The companies acted properly and in accordance with accounting standards in submitting filings to the S.E.C. in March and April.”

You did see the video right? there are counltess more. Im more then willing to say that msnbc is a pro left and liberal network but the fox viewers really believe they are fair and balanced.. Just because they put a democrat on between 5 right wingers does not make them balanced. Most times its a so called dem like pat cadell who is a republican... i just wish fox viewers would be able to understand that it is not a news station... it is pushing its own agenda which is conservatism

What show has a Dem with 5 right wingers surrounding them? I will be more then happy to actually count your countless examples when you post them. I am sure you will start with the stupid picture of Fox attempting to inflate rally numbers, but imo that is countered by the MSM only showing the fringe signs at the same rallies. Sounds like a push to me.

Was there something in your response about the "true" HC costs as pointed out in this article?

So I'm suppose to feel sorry for these companies who rake in millions of dollars because they are going to have to provide health care for millions of people who don't have it? Maybe they can cut back on the millions in bonuses to their top execs to pay for it?

You are right, the governemnt should determine what companies are profitable and which aren't. And the ones who are profitable, the government should dictate how much they can or can't make. I wonder what that scenario sounds like? And no one asked you to feel sorry for anyone. Maybe the governemnt can cut back on their employees and benefits and expand Medicare or SSI. Maybe Congress can banish all lobbying money or use the money to pay for HC for everyone. Maybe the government can provide housing and food and HC and...whoops, they already do. And some genius on here thinks unemployment is only $50 a week!!

Whatever happened to self responsibility? Why aren't people held to a higher standard themselves instead of the companies they work for?

Finally some had said, what I thought all along. Kazdog you are so correct. How do you feel sorry for these companies. The reason why the job market isn't getting better is because of these companies. When the economy was getting scary these companies down sized, even if they didn't have to. The big bosses were afraid to lose there bonuses. Now that the economy is getting a little better, these companies ARE NOT hiring. They smell the extra money they are making. I always here we are slow, from companies. No you are not slow, If you wern't making any money, you would not have your doors open. Let's say a comany 5 years ago was making 5 million a month. The bosses were raking in 250 thousand a year with a 20,000 bonus at the end of the year. Now that same company is making 4 million a month. Now the bosses are making 200 thousand a year and at the end of the year they get a 10,000 bonus. But now 20 to 30 people were let go. Even if that company gets back to were they were they will not hire 30 people every again. The companies don't care about the people. They have learn to work under staffed. Go into a walmart or target and see how long you wait in line now.

I am suppose feel sorry for someone making 200,000 a year. I got layed off making 40,000 a year, so these people can keep there million dollar homes. I worked harder in one year than these people have in a lifetime. Most of these owners don't give to sh*ts about there workers. It's up to the business owners to change this economy. And it is not going to happen. You can give out all the relieve you want, it is not going to change. I was layed off by a man who has a million dollar home and a BMW and he tells me we are slow. They now are making 5 million a month again and have not called any of the 10 people back. YEAH I FEEL SORRY FOR THE BUISNESS OWNERS, JUST LIKE I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PRISON.

Obviously you weren't that much of an asset to the company, along with the others, to be brought back. How is it they are making 5 mil a month again w/o the irreplaceable 10?
