spark, if you read the bill it says that abortion is prohibited; meaning that public funds will not be used for abortion.

Abortion is legal. Get over it. It's one less poor kid that you wouldn't help anyway.

Conservatives are more concerned with what goes on before birth and after death than what happens in between. Republican legislation cutting programs for children show conservatives to be far more concerned with potential children than they are with the real children...

If poor children wish to gain any help from the GOP, they had best crawl back in the womb.

In a sense he's right. The right didn't want to pass the HC bill which did a lot to help kids in this country. I think the elected officials could care less about abortion because they know that if it was ever overturned then a huge chunk of their constituents wouldn't vote anymore.

Do you really think the right didn't want to pass HC b/c they don't want to help children? Or do you think they might have opposed b/c they feel (right or wrong) that it is a gov't over reach as well as the thought (like many Americans) that the gov't can't and doesn't run their programs to fiscally responsible? If any of t hese measures were voted on individually, I could imagine super majority votes easily.

Your Dem party loves abortion, it is a major platform for them, so I guess they love to kill poor kids according to your twisted logic.

I think they didn't want HCare passed because they've been working hand and hand with Big Insurance Corps for the past 40 + years. I think they care about maximizing profits for big business more than they care about helping anyone; they haven't passed anything in the past 100 years that has helped people under the top 5% OF the tax bracket. Pubs are the party of big business.

When you are always against welfare and food stamps and pell grants, yes..... You claim you're against these things for the sake of Government spending, but I never hear any of you talk about how much defense spending we have. More than the rest of the world combined.... But food stamps and school lunch programs for poor kids is "out of control". You people are out of control. When are we going to evolve, put your guns down, turn your tv off, and realize we are all in this together?

AND, If the conservative movement in America is mostly about getting the federal government off our backs, then why does the Republican platform promote constitutional amendments to force prayer in schools, force women to have children they do not want and make it a crime to express political dissent by burning a flag? And why aren't you people raging to repeal the Patriot Act if you are so concerned with the size of government and "Government Takeover"?
