If you’re in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent.”

Mr Buffett said that he was taxed at 17.7 per cent on the $46 million he made last year, without trying to avoid paying higher taxes, while his secretary, who earned $60,000, was taxed at 30 per cent. Mr Buffett told his audience, which included John Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley, and Alan Patricof, the founder of the US branch of Apax Partners, that US government policy had accentuated a disparity of wealth that hurt the economy by stifling opportunity and motivation.

FUCK YOU WARREN BUFFETT THE GUYS AT BETTORSCHAT KNOW MORE THAN YOU!!!!!!!!!
Buffett is right on the money MM. The rich don't pay the same % of tax the majority of American's do. They have all kinds of loopholes to get around them that 95% of tax payers don't have. And I don't care how much they pay in % of the overall, it's do they pay the same % that I pay? The answer has always been, no. They are against flat tax because the last thing they want is to pay the same tax that the rest of us do. I'm all in favor of a flat tax, but it'll never fly.

And the trickle down theory that Bush is referring to has not worked and never will work. The rich for the most part have one thing in mind, getting richer. The last thing they are worried about is giving back to the economy. Trickle down, my ass. I've seen first hand how it never manages to trickle down. They're worried about the bottom line and what Wall Street and investors think. Did you reach profit estimates? If not, layoffs....It's a vicious circle that never ends.

And those tax cuts that were part of the Bush stimulus package? Costing over a trillion? We got $600 back on our taxes that people were suppose to reinvest into the economy. And how did that work out for country? We're getting the answer to that question now....

That wasn't going to fix the problem either. But at least for the most part, the stimulus package he passed was earmarked for specific things. Not just a blanket tax rebate. I know where I live, there has been a two lane road that has been on hold for years and years from widening, it's a really bad traffic hazard with all the fog we have and has become one of the busiest two lane roads in Calif, and it's now becoming a 4 lane road. And the $800 billion dollar stimulus was less than the two stimulus packages Bush got passed while he was in office that amounted to a tax rebate.

Mr Buffett said that a Republican proposal to eliminate elements of inheritance tax, which raises about $30 billion a year from the assets of about 12,000 rich families, would broaden the disparity between rich and poor. He added that the Republicans would seek to recover lost revenue by increasing taxes for the less prosperous.

He said: “You could take that $30 billion and give $1,000 to 30 million poor families. Or should you favour the 12,000 estates and make 30 million families pay an extra $1,000?”

Somehow you guys dont understand this concept.

But without the rich people you talk about no one else would ever become rich.......right

Here are a few other things the Obama supporter Buffett had to say .......

BUFFETT: I think--I think a lot of things should be--job one is to win the war, job--the economic war, job two is to win the economic war, and job three. And you can't expect people to unite behind you if you're trying to jam a whole bunch of things down their throat. So I would--I would absolutely say for the--for the interim, till we get this one solved, I would not be pushing a lot of things that are--you know are contentious, and I also--I also would do no finger-pointing whatsoever. I would--you know, I would not say, you know, `George'--`the previous administration got us into this.' Forget it. I mean, you know, the Navy made a mistake at Pearl Harbor and had too many ships there. But the idea that we'd spend our time after that, you know, pointing fingers at the Navy, we needed the Navy. So I would--I would--I would--no finger-pointing, no vengeance, none of that stuff. Just

BUFFETT: ...And, Joe, it--if you're in a war, and we really are on an economic war, there's a obligation to the majority to behave in ways that don't go around inflaming the minority. If on December 8th when--maybe it's December 7th, when Roosevelt convened Congress to have a vote on the war, he didn't say, `I'm throwing in about 10 of my pet projects ...

BUFFETT: Absolutely. And I think that the--I think that the Republicans have an obligation to regard this as an economic war and to realize you need one leader and, in general, support of that. But I think that the--I think that the Democrats--and I voted for Obama and I strongly support him, and I think he's the right guy--but I think they should not use this--when they're calling for unity on a question this important, they should not use it to roll the Republicans all.

But, but, but Bush either knew the day planes were going to fly into the towers or he planted them himself.
