In regards to healthcare, I would like to know what you all are against, and if any of you would support any form of gov healtcare?

Health care reform I'm in.....tort reform, longer patents, allowing health plans to exist across state lines to increase competition.....sign me up. However I am 1,000,000% against gov't run health care. Gov't screws up everything, and the private sector does it better almomst all the time.

We are talking about a program that costs trillions of dollars by their own estimates, and guess what, gov't NEVER comes in on budget. This isn't a democrat/republican thing, it's a common sense thing. The money has to come from somewhere, and it will come in the form of cuts to medicare, tax increases, and increase in premiums. Doctors will make less money, discouraging the top minds from entering the field. Pharma will make less money, meaning less incentive for R&D. In a vacuum everyone having health care is great. In a vacuum everyone owning a house is great. In a vaccum giving everyone $100k would be great. Problem is these things can't be done in a vacuum. These things are not rights. Does it suck that many good people can't afford health care, absolutely. You just can't legislate bad breaks, poor decision making, etc. Is life unfair.....absolutely......but there is nothing that could ever be done to change this. Some people just get the shitty end of the stick.
