I'm not going to diminish this win for the Conservative party. It was a good win and a wake up call for the Democrats in office. I think it could be a positive thing in the weeks to come. Congrats to you all that are hard liners....

Health care reform is definitely not off the table. I just hope they don't rush something through just to get it passed and it's not what it could or should be. Stay tuned!

Exactly what Obama should learn from this.

Slow down and start with what you can manage. Why not first go after waste and fraud in Medicare for one. He says this will help pay for healthcare (500 billion or so), if that is the case, why not get on that right away.

The problem is, he believed the hype and thought he could get whatever he wanted. He fucked up by trying to do too much, create all this new spending in a recession.

Unfortunatley, I heard today it is full steam ahead on the Obama train for healthcare. That wont fly and he should be man enough to say: "Its over, lets regroup and scale this down". Reid, Pelosi and he are going to regret pushing and forcing this bill that the majority of Americans do not want.

Well as you know the House can't change the Senate version w/o sending it (the bill with changes) back to the Senate. Unless this happens in days, which I doubt, then the House is going to suck and swallow the Senate version as is.

It's highly doubtful the House accepts the Senate version as is. But it still has a good chance once changes are made. JMO

Mass leans to the Liberal side, but why are there so many registered Independents? 50%??? One candidate was a poor choice for voters and the other appealed to the Independents on the fence. Couple that with a mini universal health care system in place in Mass and voters not wanting another plan on top of that and you have the results we did. You spin it your way, I'll spin it mine!

I disagree....It's going to get done. I agree with Jamaicaman, that it's political suicide to not get something passed at some point. It just won't be in the form it is now. And I don't think they push it through in its current form....
