You people are acting like a bunch of giddy little school girls in here. I don't seem to remember the Liberals here acting like they just soaked their panty shields when the Conservatives got their asses stomped in the 08 elections.

And for the record, don't count your chickens before they're hatched...The health care bill may still get passed. It's far from eliminated.

Here's a newsflash for ya....The Democrats still have the House and the presidency. Sorry for that dose of reality. This is actually a very good thing. The Liberals will in no way be sleeping at the wheel come November. It's a valuable wake up call....Congrats for beating an imbecile like Coakley.....night night girls.

Keep on staying in denial, Kaz. We already know your wear your crazy lib glasses and can't see the truth, but if you don't think last night was a message then there is no help for you. THIS WAS MASSACHUSETTS for crying out loud. A state Obama won by over 20 points. The most liberal place on the face of the earth. There are another 40+ democratic members of congress that won in states McCain carried, what do you think is going to happen in those states.

Yeah, it's Coakley's fault Wow, didn't see that response coming from the Dems. In one of the most shocking election outcomes in modern politics and the ONLY ridiculous explanation you socialists could come up w/ is to blame Coakley. She was up 30 points about a month ago, and I'd love to hear your genius explanation as to how anyone could drop 30-40 points in the polls within a months time without outsides factors playing a role. Please explain oh wise one what Coakley did. There could have been lesbian sex tapes come out on her and she wouldn't have dropped nearly 40 points in four weeks. I'm sure it had nothing to do with Dingy Harry and that cancer Pelosi leading the libs into the shady backroom deals of Washington politics as usual (that Obama promised to "change") that everyone is sick of.......Nebraska Medicaid and union BS deals. It is moronic to blame this on Coakley, although I've come to expect moronic for your arguments.

One final thought, absolutely pathetic that you are still talking about the health care deal still getting done. If the Dems use reconciliation to pass this through it will 1000% seal the fate of all liberals. Even your delusional self has to realize the majority of this country is against this health care plan, and if the libs cram it through it will be the end of liberalism.

One more article for you to read basically spelling it out that health care is toast. Democrats are now in self preservation mode and will jumping off the ship in droves.....The fallout: Democrats rethinking health care bill - Carrie Budoff Brown and Patrick O'Connor - POLITICO.com

exactly! if they were really listening to the public, they would have been saying this a long time ago (va and nj elections, and the tea party movement). they were all just dismissing these and making fun of the tea party movement.

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen, in a prepared statement released moments after Martha Coakley's abrupt concession, works to do what she couldn't: shift the blame back to Bush.

IMO, it would be very foolish to consider health care dead. The Dems have known for a few weeks there was a good chance of losing Mass and supermajority in the Senate. So they know sending a bill back to the Senate needing 60 wouldn't fly. I guarantee plans are in place to either have the House swallow the Senate version and revisit in reconciliation (needing 51 votes in Senate) then to stop entirely. Stopping is political suicide as people will see how Dems govern for a year with the House, Senate and WH and nothing happens. So stopping is worse then sneaking in within the rules.

You're exactly right. But I don't think the House will swallow the Senate version.

As far as this being such a super win for Conservatives....Brown ran a very smart campaign and didn't use Conservatives to bolster his position with voters. He smartly went after the independent votes in Mass by not tooting his Conservative horn too loud and concealing any hard line Conservative position. The Independents in Mass are roughly 50% of the voters and he appealed to them much better than Coakley who thought she just needed to show up and win. Because Kennedy was a favorite son for so many years, the Liberals never groomed a qualified candidate for Mass. Coakley had terrible appeal with voters. There is only 35% of voters that are Dems and 15% are Cons, but she never related to the Independents and it cost her the election

From what I've read, Mass already has a hybrid form of universal health care in place. They don't need a health care plan like the ones being pushed through. It would only mean more money out of their pockets for something they already have. This is far from how everyone in this country feels, but may be a guide to future elections if Liberals don't make moves in positive ways to change the course the country is heading in.

Good points but you forgot to mention she had a 20 point lead in December.

The shit hit the fan when Ried, Pelosi and Obama cut backroom deals with Landreau and Nelson to buy thier votes. So much for transparency.

Brown got a bump when Obama hit the campaign trail for her.........how do you explain that??

Healthcare is dead because many in your party will not walk the plank for his agenda and will have to consider thier own elections. Stay tuned
