With Nancy O'Dell's swift exit from 'Access Hollywood,' lots were left wondering why she left the popular show. If one new report is true, a key reason could be her apparently tense relationship with co-host Billy Bush.
In a report from the NY Daily News, an insider claims that "the atmosphere at 'Access Hollywood' is like walking on a landmine because of Billy," and that his behavior caused O'Dell to leave the job she's been at since 1996.
The source says that Bush "throws tantrums and tirades and oftentimes for no apparent reason. It was one of several things that had Nancy at her wit's end after 13 years."
Bush, who is the first cousin of former President George W. Bush and the nephew of George H.W. Bush, "would go so far as to curse out producers for not writing the copy in a way he liked it, and would really go off if they assigned him to read a story that he felt was beneath him," the source claims.
While O'Dell herself hasn't spoken out about the reasons she left 'Access,' the News insider says that the sole reason is that she "was still subjected to Billy's outbursts and blow-ups on set, just like everyone else was." She also allegedly complained to 'AH' executive producer Rob Silverstein on several occasions, but the complaints led nowhere.
Bush and Silverstein are parters on 'The Billy Bush Show,' leading many to believe that Bush gets preferential treatment from management because of the business arrangement.
O'Dell's rep tells the Daily News that "Nancy's decision was based solely on her desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable."
I guess all of the bushes are assholes.
