Al Gore is a goofball. He has access to all the same information that we all have and he's no more of an expert on the issue. In my opinion, he's hurt the movement more than he's helped.

    Here's what we know:
Carbon dioxide is the second-most important contributor to the greenhouse effect.
Carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere have been upward trending since the Industrial Revolution.
Global temperatures are on a coincidental upward trend.

I think this points to global warming, but I can understand that many people disagree.

I also agree that no one should be ignoring arguments against their stance and declaring the end of debate especially if they're confident in what they believe.

i like the way you discuss this issue, unlike a couple others here.

"Carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere have been upward trending since the Industrial Revolution.
Global temperatures are on a coincidental upward trend."

if this is true, why were scientists say there was going to be a ice age 30 years ago? weren't temps going down with CO2 going up?

Well said, I am logical and like to take the scientific approach to things. Therefore I need concrete evidence before buying into someones theory. It just seems that some of these theories are not backed with fullproof (un-biased) scientific evidence.

To start writing laws to try and control something we cannot even predict at this point seems odd to me.

I have a friend who works for NOAA and he fills me in on the grant money process.

some people can eat badly and have no heart problems, or eat great and have heart problems. your analogy seems to make our point. we could be doing all the "green" things and it might not make any difference.

what we are saying is speculation doesn't justify a great cost.

this whole global warming issue is a total sham. first of all we only have a limited amount of data to support any one theory. Scientists can make their best guess as to what happend to earth millions of years ago but its just that.......A GUESS.

the simple fact is the average human life on earth is equal to a blink of an eye.

there is absolutely no reason to curb or change what is currently being done with humans and how they interact with regards to our atmosphere. there isnt enough pollutants in the world today tomorrow or ever that will effect our climate in a negative or positive way.

do people realize that over 97% of the earth is either covered by sea, desert, forest or ice. That means 3% of the world is actually used for living(inhabited). Of this only a fraction of a percent is actually developed. More of the world actually lives without contributing to polluting our atmosphere then those who do.

the people who believe wont change. they believe because they want to feel like they are doing something good for the planet. I believe that it simply does not matter what we do. I have no problem with people doing whatever they want. If they want to "GO GREEN" go for it. My problem lies in the fact when someone tells me how to live my life. You go on believing what you will. Just leave me alone.

Absolutely comical how the libs (BW, Kaz, etc) in here accuse conservatives of using fear to scare people into what we want. Global warming is perhaps the biggest fear mongering hoax of all time. Let's scare people into thinking the world is going to end and then make an ass load of money off that fear.
