C'mon grandmama, you are smarter than this. There isn't one person I've ever met that said government doesn't have a role. Infrastructure, national security, etc. Very silly to make such broad assumptions. What I, and the majority of this great country, do have issues with is government getting itself involved in stuff they weren't designed to get involved with. Private business, private healthcare, etc. I know you aren't so foolish to realize that there isn't a lot to hate about our government. Nobody is calling for government to completely go away, just keep out of our private lives.

That's what we are talking about.

did you miss this? there is more, i just try to keep posts short.

there are many ways tree hugger al gore will benefit from his fear mongering.

Gore and other members of the Copenhagen Climate Council, including the world’s largest producer of wind turbines, Vestas, present their demands for carbon-trading schemes as altruistic efforts to clean up the planet. In truth, these green-leaning profit-making machines stand to gain significantly if the activities of their less green competitors are hampered by government demands.

i would like to see the govt give vouchers so people can have the choice of sending their kids to a private school if they choose.

maybe a dem can answer this. why are dem's against this? wouldn't this benefit lower income people, giving them the same opportunities of education as richer people? or are they more in bed with the teachers unions, and just saying they support the poor to get their vote?

i little competition would be good for the schools, just like everything else. about $15,600/child per year, 2.2 billion a year, and over 1/2 the county budget where i live is spent on schools. i am sure it is the same %'s all over the country.
