Spark posted that he thought if Congress had a personal stake in their vote for war, would they vote the same way. So if Congress had to give up their health insurance and go on the public option, would they?

I always remember people saying that a congressman or the president should have a son or daughter that would have to go to war if they vote for it.

I listened to a lot of talk radio today. Two programs that supported the war 8 yrs ago are against it now. What ever happened to the slogan we need to fight them there instead of here, or this war is in our best interest for natl security. This is a bunch of political BS. I only wish people went on principals instead of their political agendas. Spark I want to go a step further. The polictians were scared because they did not have to balls to go against their constituants. If all of us had to give up something such as to pay a war tax that is being kicked around now. I think the war would not be as popular as it was in 2002....

i think we should pull out, but this clown of a president want's it both ways. he doesn't want to be perceived as weak (more troops), but still sucks up to the left wing (out in 18 months). he hasn't made a hard decision yet, just try to suck up to as many people as possible. i guess that's all that can be expected from a community organizer.

i thought we should have gone into both countries and done what we needed to do to protect our interests, but i didn't like what has happened after sadam and al qaeda were taken care of. afghanistan is the biggest losing situation by far, that country will never be anything more than what it has been for 100's of years. i actually think it is much worse than vietnam.
