I have kids and a wife. If I had no dependents, I would cash in my chips. No way I would do it if I had wife or kids.

I probably over reacted, but that is just tragic. No one really knows how they would respond.

I understand exactly how you feel but I thought I saw she had a daughter in college so that was my reasoning..All I can think about is here living for her.And I agree with you 100% none of us know until we have been there.God help all of us that we don't have to ever go thru something like that.

It would very difficult to go on after going through that pain(of the attack) then im sure she probably has had plenty of operations since.

No, but then again I have never voted for someone based upon the color of his skin. I do respect voters who did their research and sided with Obama. The sad reality that this country is and will be paying for is that most Obama backers did not. Which leads me to Oprah who has no idea what Obama believes in or what he has done since he has been in office.

bwade you make a lot of assumptions in your replies. You believe that the mccain palin backers knew who the leader of the house was, or how many senate seats are. I mean you just assume the mccain electorate was more intelligent than the obama electorate and the majority of obama backers voted for him because he was black and a majority of them were racists.

I had a different take on it though. I believe a lot of americans were just plain tired of the previous administration lies(lies about the iraq war, lies about wmd's)the 400 gas prices and bushs denial of the horrible economy. I believe george bush made it possible for obama to become elected because if he hadnt screwed things up so bad then NO WAY IN HELL OBAMA GETS ELECTED.

Im not going to assume everyone who voted mccain and palin are prejudiced, people have different politics, some people believe in a womans right to choose some dont,

on why oprah chose to air this lady and the results of her terrible tragedy I do believe this woman chose this and wanted to bring this to light so no one makes the mistake of keeping a wild chimp as a pet.

I saw a thing on Aninaml planet about Grizzly Bear attacks. A guy had his face bitten off, lost both eyes and had hs face rebuilt with a titanium mesh to replace missing bone.

His face did look better than this woman. I wonder if the skill of the surgeon was the issue. This guy had lost his whole face and looked better than this woman.

She wanted to do a show because the pressure was getting stronger for her to show her face somewhere. She decided it was time and she could have sold the pictures and interview to a tabloid for hundreds of thousands but she didn't want that. SHE chose the Oprah show because she knew it would be done on her terms.

A face transplant was done overseas somwhere in another country. Maybe in Asia if I remember correctly. That is tricky because of tissue rejection.

This lady did too. Her nose was totally ripped off. That chunk of skin in the middle of her face and is actually a piece of her leg. Same thing. She still has no nose and she can only breathe out of her mouth. She is very coherant and in the interview, she was very positive about the future and hoping in time, things will be better. My heart broke for her and i don't know i could have the strength this woman has. She is truly a miracle.
